Apocrypha · Chapter 10 of 12

Gospel of Nicodemus 10

Acts of Pilate

The Jews found Joseph in Arimathea and invited him to Jerusalem with peace.

2Joseph recounted: 'At midnight, the house where I was became suspended and I saw a light. Someone lifted me from the ground.'

3'And Jesus said to me: I am Jesus, whose body you asked from Pilate.'

4'He showed me the empty tomb with the linen cloth and the shroud spread out.'

5'Jesus took me to my bed and said: Peace be with you. Until forty days are completed, do not leave your house.'

6When the elders heard these words from Joseph, they became as dead and fell to the ground.

7Nicodemus and Joseph encouraged them saying: 'Rise up and strengthen your souls.'
