מַלְכוּת
Malkut
malkút
Kingdom as reign in action — the ruling happening, not the territory.
Malkut and the Greek basileia describe the exercise of a king's power far more than a place on the map. So “the kingdom of God is among you” is no geographical contradiction: it says that this rule has already begun to act. Matthew writes “kingdom of heaven” out of Jewish reverence for the divine name, not because he means a different kingdom.
