Lux Veritas began with a simple frustration: looking for the Book of Enoch, Jubilees or Pistis Sophia in readable Portuguese, with an index, search and audio, and not finding them.
A rare collection in one place
Alongside 76 canonical books, Lux Veritas brings together 119 apocryphal and pseudepigraphical books — Enoch, Jubilees, Jasher, Pistis Sophia and the Odes of Solomon — and 5 ancient manuscript records. This material is often scattered across poorly scanned PDFs without an index or audio.
Reading without distractions
No pop-up covering the text and no account screen before the first line. Serif type, a parchment background and highlighted verses as narration plays. An account is needed only for features that save your information.
Chapter by chapter narration
Audio is generated with a neural voice and aligned verse by verse to accompany your reading. Every chapter in the collection has its own track.
Study with context
Living Word and topic studies answer from actual passages, citing book and chapter so you can check them in the text beside the answer.
Where each text comes from
Canonical books use public domain translations (the João Ferreira de Almeida tradition in Portuguese and King James in English). The apocryphal and pseudepigraphical books come from critical editions and translations that are also in the public domain, revised for continuous reading: numbered chapters and verses, modernized spelling and apparatus notes removed from the main text.
Where manuscripts differ substantially, the book page has an editorial note explaining the choice. The Manuscripts section brings together records of Sinaiticus, Vaticanus, Peshitta, Septuagint and papyrus P52, with what each preserves.
Nothing here is presented as the official canon of any church: apocrypha are identified as apocrypha. The aim is access and context, without replacing your faith tradition or arguing with it. See also licenses and credits.
Who maintains the project
Lux Veritas is made by Pryvion Studio, an independent studio run by Diego Ferreira da Costa — one person, without an editorial team or investor. The same collection is available as an app on Google Play.
Servers, databases, audio generation and AI queries cost money with every use — each chapter heard and each question asked of Living Word adds to the monthly bill. Premium supports the collection so it can stay open to readers who only want to read, without a paywall on the biblical text.
