TESTAMENT OF REUBEN - Copy of the testament of Reuben, the instructions he gave to his sons before he died.
2Hear, my sons, the words of Reuben, your father.
3Behold, I am dying and going the way of my fathers.
4Seeing here Judah and Gad and Asher, my brothers, I give you this commandment.
5Pay attention to Reuben, your father, in what I command you.
6Behold, I call against you today the God of heaven, that you walk not in the ignorance of youth.
7Nor in the fornication in which I fell and defiled the bed of my father Jacob.
8I tell you that he struck me with a severe illness for seven months.
9If it had not been for Jacob, my father, who prayed for me to the Lord, the Lord would have destroyed me.
10For I was thirty years old when I committed this evil in the sight of the Lord.
11And for seven months I was sick unto death.
