1While we are on earth, let us repent.
2For we are clay in the hands of the craftsman. Like the potter, if he makes a vessel and it becomes twisted or broken in his hands, he shapes it again.
3But if he has already put it in the burning furnace, he can no longer mend it.
4So also with us, while we are in this world, let us repent with all our heart of the evil things we did in the flesh, that we may be saved by the Lord while there is time for repentance.
5For after we depart from the world we can no longer confess or repent there.
6Therefore, brethren, doing the will of the Father and keeping the flesh in purity.
7And keeping the commandments of the Lord, we shall receive eternal life.
8For the Lord says in the gospel: If you did not keep the small, who will give you the great?
