2 Clemente 9

1Enquanto estamos na terra, arrependamo-nos.

1While we are on earth, let us repent.

2Porque somos barro nas mãos do artífice. Como o oleiro, se faz um vaso e este se entorta ou quebra em suas mãos, volta a moldá-lo.

2For we are clay in the hands of the craftsman. Like the potter, if he makes a vessel and it becomes twisted or broken in his hands, he shapes it again.

3Mas se já o colocou no forno ardente, não pode mais consertá-lo.

3But if he has already put it in the burning furnace, he can no longer mend it.

4Assim também nós, enquanto estamos neste mundo, arrependamo-nos de coração das coisas más que fizemos na carne, para que sejamos salvos pelo Senhor enquanto há tempo de arrependimento.

4So also with us, while we are in this world, let us repent with all our heart of the evil things we did in the flesh, that we may be saved by the Lord while there is time for repentance.

5Porque depois de partirmos do mundo não poderemos mais nos confessar ou nos arrepender.

5For after we depart from the world we can no longer confess or repent there.

6Portanto, irmãos, fazendo a vontade do Pai e preservando a carne em pureza.

6Therefore, brethren, doing the will of the Father and keeping the flesh in purity.

7E guardando os mandamentos do Senhor, receberemos vida eterna.

7And keeping the commandments of the Lord, we shall receive eternal life.

8Porque o Senhor diz no evangelho: Se não guardastes o pequeno, quem vos dará o grande?

8For the Lord says in the gospel: If you did not keep the small, who will give you the great?
