LUX VERITAS

Apocrypha

2 Clement 20

1And let us not be vexed or indignant, being foolish, when someone admonishes us and turns us from unrighteousness to righteousness.

2For sometimes when we do evil, we do not perceive it because of the double-mindedness and unbelief present in our hearts.

3And we are darkened in our understanding by our vain desires.

4Let us practice righteousness, therefore, that in the end we may be saved.

5Blessed are they who obey these ordinances. Though they suffer a brief time in this world, they shall reap the immortal fruit of the resurrection.

6Let not the godly man be grieved if he is afflicted in the present times.

7A blessed time awaits him. He, living again above with the fathers, shall rejoice for an eternity without sorrows.

8To the only invisible God, Father of truth, who sent us the Savior and author of immortality, through whom he also manifested to us the truth and the heavenly life, to him be glory forever and ever. Amen.
