1 Clement 29

Letter to the Corinthians

Let us approach him, therefore, in holiness of soul, lifting up to him pure and undefiled hands.

2Loving our kind and merciful Father, who made us the portion of his choice.

3For thus it is written: When the Most High divided the nations, when he dispersed the sons of Adam, he fixed the limits of the nations according to the number of the angels of God.

4His portion became the Lord his God, Jacob the line of his inheritance of Israel.
