When Israel was led captive to a foreign land, departing from the Lord their redeemer they were expelled.

2Israel is dispersed among the peoples according to the word of God.

3Our works are in the choice and capacity of our souls.

4He who practices righteousness treasures up his life to the Lord.

5To whom will you show kindness, O God, if not to those who invoke the Lord?

6And then you are God, and we the people whom you love.

7For you chose the seed of Abraham from among all peoples.

8The mercy of the Lord is upon the House of Israel forever.
