When my soul slumbered for a little I fell down below the Lord.
For a little my soul was poured out to death, near the gates of Hades, with the sinners.
He pricked me like the goad stings the horse for its liveliness, my savior and protector at all times saved me.
I will praise you, O God, because you came to my aid for salvation.
Do not withdraw your mercy from me, O God, nor your remembrance from my heart.
Guard me, O Lord, from harmful sin.
Guide the works of my hands in your way.
Clothe my tongue and my lips with words of truth.
When the righteous endures these things, he shall obtain mercy from the Lord.
