Pistis Sophia 79

Wisdom of Faith

And the First Mystery continued again in the discourse and said unto the disciples: It came to pass then, when Pistis Sophia had seen that Adamas and all his rulers were not able to constrain her, because of the seal of the Light which was upon her, that she turned and addressed Adamas and his rulers, saying:

2Wherefore have ye pursued after me, ye rulers of the chaos and ye emanations of Self-willed? Ye have had no power to prevail against me, for my saviour is strong and hath delivered me out of all your hands.

3The Light hath sealed your regions and hath commanded you that ye should not fight against me. Because ye have counselled against me in iniquity, your iniquity will return upon your own head.

4And because ye have digged a pit for me, ye will fall into the ditch which ye have made.

5And when Sophia had said these words unto Adamas and his rulers, she turned again and sang praises unto the Light, saying:

6I will give thanks unto the Lord according to his righteousness, and I will sing praises to the name of the Lord, the Most High. For he hath saved me out of the hand of my foes, and hath delivered my soul from death.

7And when Sophia had finished her song, she held her peace.
