Gospel of Peter 7

The Cross

Pilate, then, delivered to them Petronius and a centurion with soldiers to guard the sepulcher.

2With them the elders and the scribes also went to the tomb.

3There, rolling a great stone, all those who were present, together with the centurion and the soldiers, placed it at the door of the sepulcher.

4Moreover, they affixed seven seals and after setting up a tent, they began to keep watch.

5Early in the morning, as the Sabbath dawned, a great multitude came from Jerusalem and the surrounding areas to see the sealed sepulcher.
