Apocrypha · Chapter 3 of 3

Acts of Thomas 3

Deeds of the Apostle

Thomas answered: 'Master, the people who speak about the invisible act like archers trying to hit a target in the middle of the night.'

2'When the light arises and drives away the darkness, then what each person has done will be distinguished.'

3'Master, our light, bringing illumination.'

4Jesus said: 'It is in the light that light exists.'

5Thomas asks: 'Master, why does this visible light that shines upon us rise and set?'

6The Savior answers: 'Blessed Thomas, this visible light shines upon you not to keep you there, but to help you depart.'

7'He who seeks the Truth in true wisdom will create in himself wings to fly and flee from the passion that inflames human spirits.'
