LUX VERITAS

Apocrypha

2 Clement 3

1For he called us when we did not exist and willed that from nothing we should come into existence.

2Rejoice, O barren one who does not bear; break forth and cry, you who have no labor pains.

3The children of the desolate one shall be more than those of her who has a husband.

4When he said: Rejoice, O barren one who does not bear, he spoke of us.

5For our church was barren before children were given to it.

6And when he said: Cry, you who have no labor pains, he means this.

7That we should offer our prayers to God with sincerity, not like women in labor.

8And when he said: The children of the desolate shall be more than hers, it is because our people seemed desolate and abandoned by God, but now, believing, we have become more than those who seemed to have God.
