LUX VERITAS

Apocrypha · Chapter 39 of 65

1 Clement 39

Letter to the Corinthians

Foolish and senseless, stupid and uninstructed men mock us, wanting to exalt themselves in their own presumption.

2What can a mortal do? Or what strength is there in one who is made of dust?

3For it is written: There was no form before my eyes; I heard only a sound and a voice.

4What then? Shall a mortal be pure before the Lord? Or shall a man be blameless in his works, if he does not trust in his servants and finds fault in his angels?
