Apocrypha · Chapter 40 of 65

1 Clement 40

Letter to the Corinthians

These things being clear to us, and having looked into the depths of divine knowledge, we must do in good order all things that the Lord commanded to be fulfilled at the appointed times.

2That the offerings and ministries be performed, and not carelessly or disorderly, but at the appointed times and seasons.

3Where and by whom he wants them to be performed, he himself fixed by his supreme design.

4For to the high priest his own functions were given; to the priests their own place was assigned; and to the Levites their own ministries are imposed.
