Infancy Gospel of Thomas 7

Miracles of the Child

Then Zacchaeus took him to school to teach him.

2The teacher wrote the alphabet for him and began to teach, repeating many times the alpha.

3But the child was silent for a long time.

4Jesus said: If you are really a teacher and know the letters well, tell me first what is alpha, and then I will tell you what is beta.

5The teacher became angry and struck him on the head.

6And the child was hurt and cursed him, and immediately the teacher fainted and fell with his face to the ground.

7The child returned to Joseph's house, and Joseph was very sad and commanded his mother: Do not let him leave the house, because everyone who angers him dies.
