Infancy Gospel of Thomas 2

Miracles of the Child

A Jew, seeing what Jesus was doing on the Sabbath, went immediately to tell Joseph, his father.

2He said: See, your son is by the brook and has taken clay and molded twelve sparrows, profaning the Sabbath.

3Joseph came to the place and, seeing, rebuked him saying: Why do you do these things on the Sabbath, which is not lawful to do?

4But Jesus, clapping his hands, cried out to the sparrows: Go! And the sparrows flew away making noise.

5The Jews, seeing this, marveled and went to tell their leaders what they had seen Jesus do.
