Evangelho da Infância de Tomé 2

1Um judeu, vendo o que Jesus fazia no sábado, foi imediatamente contar a José, seu pai.

1A Jew, seeing what Jesus was doing on the Sabbath, went immediately to tell Joseph, his father.

2Disse: Vê, teu filho está junto ao riacho e tomou barro e moldou doze pardais, profanando o sábado.

2He said: See, your son is by the brook and has taken clay and molded twelve sparrows, profaning the Sabbath.

3José veio ao lugar e, vendo, repreendeu-o dizendo: Por que fazes estas coisas no sábado, que não é lícito fazer?

3Joseph came to the place and, seeing, rebuked him saying: Why do you do these things on the Sabbath, which is not lawful to do?

4Mas Jesus, batendo as mãos, gritou aos pardais: Ide! E os pardais voaram fazendo barulho.

4But Jesus, clapping his hands, cried out to the sparrows: Go! And the sparrows flew away making noise.

5Os judeus, vendo isso, ficaram maravilhados e foram contar a seus líderes o que haviam visto Jesus fazer.

5The Jews, seeing this, marveled and went to tell their leaders what they had seen Jesus do.
