1When he scorned the sinner, with a battering ram he cast down the fortified wall.
2They ascended upon your altar, foreigners trampled with sandals.
3Because the children of Jerusalem defiled the Sanctuary of the Lord, profaned wickedly the gift of God.
4Because of these things he said: 'You have cast yourselves far from me; I have no pleasure in you.'
5The beauty of her glory was despised; before God she was dishonored.
6The sons and daughters are in wicked captivity, their sealed necks are notorious to the nations.
7According to their sins he did to them, because he abandoned them into the hands of enemies.
8You are the Righteous Judge, and you flatter no one.
9Praise God you who fear the Lord in wisdom, for the mercy of the Lord is upon those who fear him with judgment.
10Blessed be the Lord forever before his saints.
