Wisdom of Faith

It came to pass then, when Jesus had finished speaking these words unto his disciples, that Matthew came forward and said: My Lord, thy spirit hath moved me and thy light hath made me sober to proclaim this song which Pistis Sophia hath uttered. And thy power hath prophesied it aforetime through David in the thirtieth Psalm, saying:

2I will exalt thee, O Lord, for thou hast received me, and thou hast not made glad my foes over me.

3O Lord, my God, I cried up unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

4O Lord, thou hast led up my soul out of hell; thou hast saved me from them which go down into the pit.

5When Matthew had said these words, the Saviour said: Well said, Matthew; finely. Now, therefore, who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
