Pistis Sophia 131

Wisdom of Faith

Mary said: "My Lord, reveal unto us concerning the counterfeit spirit and concerning Destiny, how they are joined unto the soul."

2Jesus answered: "When the rulers of the sphere are about to send a soul into the world, they take of their own matter and fashion the counterfeit spirit, which is full of all lusts and evil passions.

3"And they bind the counterfeit spirit unto the soul, and they seal them with the seal of Destiny, so that whatever is appointed unto that man by the stars of the sphere, that will befall him.

4"And the counterfeit spirit constantly urgeth the soul to commit sins and iniquities, that it may be held captive in the judgments of the rulers."
