They, holding the Lord, pushed him and said: 'Let us drag the Son of God, since he has fallen into our hands.'
2Then they clothed him in purple and made him sit on the judgment seat, saying: 'Judge righteously, O king of Israel.'
3One of them brought a crown of thorns and placed it on the head of the Lord.
4Some of those present spat on his face, while others struck him on the cheeks.
5Others still wounded him with a rod and there were those who beat him, saying: 'This is the homage we render to the Son of God.'
