LUX VERITAS

Apocrypha

Apocalypse of Peter 4

1Not all souls proceed from the Truth, nor all from immortality. In these aeons, each soul is destined to die because it is always a slave.

2But the immortal souls, O Peter, are not so. However, until the hour of death has not arrived, the immortal soul will seem similar to the mortal.

3It will not manifest its true nature, which — it alone — is immortal and aspires to immortality, having faith and desiring renunciation of earthly things.

4Wise people have knowledge that figs are not gathered from thistles or thorns, nor grapes from thorny plants.

5That is, each fruit always proceeds from the tree to which it belongs. Therefore, everything that has no true existence will dissolve into nothing.

6The deaf and the blind only harmonize with their own kind.
