Thus says the Lord: I brought you out of Egypt and led you through the sea, and prepared for you safe cities from the beginning.
I gave you Moses as a leader and Aaron as a priest.
I illuminated you with a pillar of fire, and I performed great wonders among you. But you have forgotten me, says the Lord.
Thus says the Lord Almighty: The quails were a sign for you. I gave you a camp for protection, but there you murmured.
Did you not triumph in my name over the destruction of your enemies? Why until now do you not cease to murmur?
Where are the benefits I did for you? When you were hungry and thirsty in the wilderness, did you not cry out to me?
Saying: Why have you brought us to this wilderness to kill us? It would have been better to have served the Egyptians than to die in this wilderness.
I had compassion on your groaning and gave you manna for food. You ate the bread of angels.
When you were thirsty, did I not open the rock and waters flowed in abundance? Because of the heat, I covered you with the leaves of trees.
I divided among you fertile lands; I drove out before you the Canaanites, Perizzites and Philistines. What more could I do for you?, says the Lord.
