1I am Joseph of Arimathea, the one who asked Pilate for the body of the Lord Jesus to bury him.
2For this reason I now find myself chained and oppressed by the Jews, murderers and rebels against God.
3Seven days before the passion of Christ, two thieves were sent from Jericho to the governor Pilate.
4The first, called Gestas, used to kill travelers with the sword. He never knew God.
5The second, called Dismas, was of Galilean origin. He robbed the rich but favored the poor.
6Even being a thief, he was like Tobias, since he used to bury the dead.
7Jesus was also arrested in the afternoon of the day before Passover.
