1Havendo então o Salvador dito isto, Maria Madalena adiantou-se e disse: Senhor meu, suporta-me e não te indignes comigo, se eu te interrogar acerca de todas as coisas com exatidão e certeza. Agora, pois, Senhor meu, é porventura uma a palavra do mistério do Inefável e outra a palavra de toda a gnose?

1When then the Saviour had said this, Mary Magdalene started forward and said: My Lord, bear with me and be not wroth with me, if I question on all things with precision and certainty. Now, therefore, my Lord, is then another the word of the mystery of the Ineffable and another the word of the whole gnosis?

2O Salvador respondeu e disse: Sim, um é o mistério do Inefável e outra é a palavra de toda a gnose.

2The Saviour answered and said: Yea, another is the mystery of the Ineffable and another the word of the whole gnosis.

3E Maria respondeu novamente e disse ao Salvador: Senhor meu, suporta-me se eu te interrogar, e não te indignes comigo. Agora, pois, Senhor meu, a menos que vivamos e conheçamos a gnose de toda a palavra do Inefável, não poderemos nós herdar o Reino da Luz?

3And Mary answered again and said unto the Saviour: My Lord, bear with me, if I question thee, and be not wroth with me. Now, therefore, my Lord, unless we live and know the gnosis of the whole word of the Ineffable, shall we not be able to inherit the Light-kingdom?

4E o Salvador respondeu e disse a Maria: Certamente; pois todo aquele que receber um mistério do Reino da Luz irá e herdará até à região até a qual recebeu mistérios. Mas ele não conhecerá a gnose do universo, por que razão surgiu tudo isto, a não ser que conheça a única e singular palavra do Inefável, que é a gnose do universo. E novamente vos digo abertamente: Eu sou a gnose do universo. E além disso é impossível conhecer a única e singular palavra da gnose, a menos que o homem receba primeiro o mistério do Inefável. Mas todos os homens que receberem mistérios na Luz — cada um irá e herdará até à região até a qual tiver recebido mistérios.

4And the Saviour answered and said unto Mary: Surely; for every one who shall receive a mystery of the Light-kingdom, will go and inherit up to the region up to which he hath received mysteries. But he will not know the gnosis of the universe, wherefor all this hath arisen, unless he knoweth the one and only word of the Ineffable, which is the gnosis of the universe. And again in openness: I am the gnosis of the universe. And moreover it is impossible to know the one and only word of the gnosis, unless a man first receive the mystery of the Ineffable. But all the men who shall receive mysteries in the Light,--every one will go and inherit up to the region up to which he hath received mysteries.

5Por esta causa vos disse outrora: Aquele que crê em um profeta receberá o galardão de profeta, e aquele que crê em um justo receberá o galardão de justo —, isto é: Cada um irá para a região até a qual recebeu mistérios. Aquele que recebe um mistério menor herdará o mistério menor, e aquele que recebe um mistério maior herdará as regiões superiores. E cada um permanecerá na sua região na luz do meu reino, e cada um terá poder sobre as ordens que estão abaixo dele, mas não terá poder de subir às ordens que estão acima dele; antes permanecerá na região da Herança da Luz do meu reino, estando em uma grande luz incomensurável para os deuses e para todos os invisíveis, e estará em grande alegria e imenso regozijo.

5On this account I have said unto you aforetime: He who hath faith in a prophet, will receive a prophet's reward, and he who hath faith in a righteous man will receive a righteous man's reward,--that is: Every one will go to the region up to which he hath received mysteries. He who receiveth a lesser mystery, will inherit the lesser mystery, and he who receiveth a higher mystery, will inherit the higher regions. And every one will abide in his region in the light of my kingdom, and every one will have power over the orders which are below him, but he will not have the power to go to the orders which are above him; but he will abide in the region of the Inheritance of the Light of my kingdom, being in a great light immeasurable for the gods and all the invisibles, and he will be in great joy and great jubilation.

6Mas agora, portanto, ouvi, para que eu converse convosco a respeito da grandeza daqueles que receberem os mistérios do Primeiro Mistério.

6But now, therefore, hearken, that I may discourse with you concerning the grandeur of those who shall receive the mysteries of the First Mystery.

7Aquele, pois, que receber o primeiro mistério daquele Primeiro Mistério, e for no momento em que sair do corpo da matéria dos governantes — então os recebedores retribuidores virão e conduzirão a alma desse homem fora do corpo. E aquela alma se tornará uma grande torrente de luz nas mãos dos recebedores retribuidores; e aqueles recebedores temerão a luz daquela alma. E aquela alma subirá e passará por todas as regiões dos governantes e por todas as regiões das emanações da Luz. E não dará respostas nem desculpas nem senhas em nenhuma região da Luz nem em qualquer região dos governantes; mas passará por todas as regiões e as atravessará todas, de sorte que irá e reinará sobre todas as regiões do primeiro salvador.

7He, therefore, who shall receive the first mystery of that First Mystery, and it shall be at the time that he cometh out of the body of the matter of the rulers,--then the retributive receivers come and lead the soul of that man out of the body. And that soul will become a great light-stream in the hands of the retributive receivers; and those receivers will be afraid of the light of that soul. And that soul will go upwards and pass through all the regions of the rulers and all the regions of the emanations of the Light. And it will not give answers nor apologies nor tokens in any single region of the Light nor in any single region of the rulers; but it will pass through all the regions and cross over them all, so that it goeth and ruleth over all the regions of the first saviour.

8Da mesma maneira também aquele que receber o segundo mistério do Primeiro Mistério e o terceiro e o quarto, até que receba o décimo segundo mistério do Primeiro Mistério, se for no momento em que sair do corpo da matéria dos governantes — então os recebedores retribuidores virão e conduzirão a alma daquele homem fora do corpo de matéria. E aquelas almas se tornarão uma grande torrente de luz nas mãos dos recebedores retribuidores; e aqueles recebedores terão pavor da luz daquelas almas e ficarão impotentes e cairão sobre as suas faces. E aquelas almas logo subirão e cruzarão todas as regiões dos governantes e todas as regiões das emanações da Luz. Não darão respostas nem desculpas nem senhas em região alguma; mas passarão por todas as regiões e as cruzarão todas e reinarão sobre todas as regiões dos doze salvadores, de sorte que os que recebem o segundo mistério do Primeiro Mistério reinarão sobre todas as regiões do segundo salvador nas heranças da Luz.

8In like manner also he who shall receive the second mystery of the First Mystery and the third and fourth, until he shall receive the twelfth mystery of the First Mystery, if it shall be at the time that he cometh out of the body of the matter of the rulers,--then the retributive receivers come and lead the soul of that man out of the body of matter. And those souls will become a great light-stream in the hands of the retributive receivers; and those receivers will be afraid of the light of those souls and will become powerless and fall on their faces. And those souls will straightway soar upwards and cross over all the regions of the rulers and all the regions of the emanations of the Light. They will not give answers nor apologies nor tokens in any single region; but they will pass through all the regions and will cross over them all and rule over all the regions of the twelve saviours, so that they who receive the second mystery of the First Mystery, will rule over all the regions of the second saviour in the inheritances of the Light.

9Do mesmo modo também aqueles que recebem o terceiro mistério do Primeiro Mistério e o quarto e o quinto e o sexto até o décimo segundo — cada um reinará sobre todas as regiões do salvador até ao qual tiver recebido o mistério.

9In like manner also those who receive the third mystery of the First Mystery and the fourth and fifth and sixth up to the twelfth,--every one will rule over all the regions of the saviour up to whom he hath received the mystery.

10E aquele que receber em sucessão o décimo segundo mistério do Primeiro Mistério, isto é, o mistério-mestre acerca do qual vos falo — e aquele, pois, que receber esses doze mistérios que pertencem ao Primeiro Mistério, se sair do mundo, passará por todas as regiões dos governantes e por todas as regiões da Luz, sendo uma grande torrente de luz, e além disso reinará sobre todas as regiões dos doze salvadores; contudo não poderão ser semelhantes àqueles que recebem o único e singular mistério do Inefável. Mas aquele que receber esses mistérios habitará nessas ordens, porque elas são sublimes, e habitará nas ordens dos doze salvadores.

10And he who shall receive in sequence the twelfth mystery of the First Mystery, that is the master-mystery concerning which I discourse with you,--and he who, therefore, shall receive those twelve mysteries which belong to the First Mystery, if he goeth forth out of the world, will pass through all the regions of the rulers and all the regions of the Light, being a great light-stream, and he will moreover rule over all the regions of the twelve saviours; but they will not be able to be like unto those who receive the one and only mystery of the Ineffable. But he who shall receive those mysteries will abide in those orders, because they are exalted, and he will abide in the orders of the twelve saviours.
