1Aconteceu então que, havendo Jesus acabado de dizer estas palavras, Maria Madalena adiantou-se e disse: Senhor meu, o meu habitador de luz tem ouvidos e eu compreendo cada palavra que tu dizes.

1It came to pass then, when Jesus had finished speaking these words, that Mary Magdalene started forward and said: My Lord, my indweller of light hath ears and I comprehend every word which thou sayest.

2Agora, pois, Senhor meu, por causa da palavra que disseste: Todas as almas da raça dos homens que receberem os mistérios da Luz entrarão na Herança da Luz antes de todos os governantes que se arrependerem, e antes daqueles de toda a região da Direita e antes de toda a região do Tesouro da Luz — por causa desta palavra, Senhor meu, disseste-nos outrora: Os primeiros serão os últimos e os últimos serão os primeiros —, isto é, os últimos são toda a raça humana que entrará no Reino da Luz mais cedo do que todos aqueles da região da Altura, que são os primeiros.

2Now, therefore, my Lord, on account of the word which thou hast spoken: All the souls of the race of men who shall receive the mysteries of the Light, will go into the Inheritance of the Light before all the rulers who will repent, and before those of the whole region of the Right and before the whole region of the Treasury of the Light,--on account of this word, my Lord, thou hast said unto us aforetime: The first will be last and the last will be first,--that is, the last are the whole race of men which will enter into the Light-kingdom sooner than all those of the region of the Height, who are the first.

3Por esta causa, portanto, Senhor meu, disseste-nos: Quem tem ouvidos para ouvir, ouça —, isto é, desejas saber se nós compreendemos cada palavra que proferes. Esta é, pois, a palavra, Senhor meu.

3On this account, therefore, my Lord, hast thou said unto us: Who hath ears to hear, let him hear,--that is thou desirest to know whether we comprehend every word which thou speakest. This, therefore, is the word, my Lord.

4Aconteceu então que, tendo Maria acabado de dizer estas palavras, o Salvador ficou grandemente admirado com as explicações das palavras que ela proferira, porque ela se havia tornado puríssimo espírito. Jesus respondeu novamente e disse-lhe: Bem dito, espiritual e pura Maria. Esta é a solução da palavra.

4It came to pass then, when Mary had finished saying these words, that the Saviour was greatly astonished at the definitions of the words which she spake, for she had become pure spirit utterly. Jesus answered again and said unto her: Well said, spiritual and pure Mary. This is the solution of the word.
