1Jesus continuou novamente no discurso e disse aos seus discípulos: Quando eu tiver ido para a Luz, proclamai isto a todo o mundo e dizei-lhes: Não cesseis de buscar de dia e de noite e não vos deis descanso até achardes os mistérios do Reino da Luz, os quais vos purificarão e vos transformarão em luz refinada e vos conduzirão ao Reino da Luz.

1Jesus continued again in the discourse and said unto his disciples: When I shall have gone into the Light, then herald it unto the whole world and say unto them: Cease not to seek day and night and remit not yourselves until ye find the mysteries of the Light-kingdom, which will purify you and make you into refined light and lead you into the Light-kingdom.

2Dizei-lhes: Renunciai a todo o mundo e a toda a matéria que nele existe e a todas as suas solicitudes e a todos os seus pecados, em uma palavra, a todas as suas associações que nele há, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos de todos os castigos que existem nos juízos.

2Say unto them: Renounce the whole world and the whole matter therein and all its care and all its sins, in a word all its associations which are in it, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from all the chastisements which are in the judgments.

3Dizei-lhes: Renunciai à murmuração, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos do fogo do ser com cara de cão. Dizei-lhes: Renunciai a escutar às escondidas, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos dos juízos do ser com cara de cão. 3Say unto them: Renounce murmuring, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the fire of the dog-faced one. Say unto them: Renounce eavesdropping, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the judgments of the dog-faced one. Say unto them: Renounce litigiousness, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the chastisements of Ariēl.

4Say unto them: Renounce false slander, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the fire-rivers of the dog-faced one. Say unto them: Renounce false witness, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and that ye may escape and be saved from the fire-rivers of the dog-faced one.

5Dizei-lhes: Renunciai à soberba e à altivez, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos das covas de fogo de Ariel. Dizei-lhes: Renunciai à gula do ventre, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos dos juízos do Amente. Dizei-lhes: Renunciai ao palavrório vão, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos dos fogos do Amente.

5Say unto them: Renounce pride and haughtiness, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the fire-pits of Ariēl. Say unto them: Renounce belly-love, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the judgments of Amente. Say unto them: Renounce babbling, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the fires of Amente.

6Dizei-lhes: Renunciai à astúcia perversa, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos dos castigos que estão no Amente. Dizei-lhes: Renunciai à avareza, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos dos rios de fogo do ser com cara de cão. 6Say unto them: Renounce craftiness, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the chastisements which are in Amente. Say unto them: Renounce avarice, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the fire-rivers of the dog-faced one. Say unto them: Renounce love of the world, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the pitchand fire-coats of the dog-faced one.

7Dizei-lhes: Renunciai à pilhagem, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos dos rios de fogo de Ariel. 7Say unto them: Renounce pillage, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the fire-rivers of Ariēl. Say unto them: Renounce evil conversation, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the chastisements of the fire-rivers. Say unto them: Renounce wickedness, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the fire-seas of Ariēl.

8Dizei-lhes: Renunciai à crueldade, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos dos juízos dos seres com cara de dragão. 8Say unto them: Renounce pitilessness, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the judgments of the dragon-faced ones. Say unto them: Renounce wrath, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the fire-rivers of the dragon-faced ones. Say unto them: Renounce cursing, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the fire-seas of the dragon-faced ones.

9Dizei-lhes: Renunciai ao furto, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos dos mares borbulhantes dos seres com cara de dragão. Dizei-lhes: Renunciai ao roubo violento, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos de Yaldabaoth. Dizei-lhes: Renunciai à difamação, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos dos rios de fogo do ser com cara de leão.

9Say unto them: Renounce thieving, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the bubbling seas of the dragon-faced ones. Say unto them: Renounce robbery, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from Yaldabaōth. Say unto them: Renounce slandering, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the fire-rivers of the lion-faced one.

10Dizei-lhes: Renunciai às pelejas e contendas, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos dos rios ferventes de Yaldabaoth. Dizei-lhes: Renunciai a toda a ignorância, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos dos servos de Yaldabaoth e dos mares de fogo. Dizei-lhes: Renunciai ao malfazejo, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos de todos os demônios de Yaldabaoth e de todos os seus juízos.

10Say unto them: Renounce fighting and strife, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the seething rivers of Yaldabaōth. Say unto them: Renounce all unknowing, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the servitors of Yaldabaōth and the fire-seas. Say unto them: Renounce evil doing, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from all the demons of Yaldabaōth and all his judgments.

11Dizei-lhes: Renunciai à preguiça, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos dos mares ferventes de piche de Yaldabaoth. Dizei-lhes: Renunciai ao adultério, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios do Reino da Luz e sejais salvos dos mares de enxofre e de piche do ser com cara de leão.

11Say unto them: Renounce sloth, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the seething pitch-seas of Yaldabaōth. Say unto them: Renounce adultery, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light-kingdom and be saved from the sulphurand pitch-seas of the lion-faced one.

12Dizei-lhes: Renunciai ao homicídio, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos do governante com cara de crocodilo — aquele que está no frio, que é a primeira câmara das trevas exteriores. Dizei-lhes: Renunciai à desumanidade e à impiedade, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos dos governantes das trevas exteriores.

12Say unto them: Renounce murder, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the crocodile-faced ruler,--this one who is in the cold, is the first chamber of the outer darkness. Say unto them: Renounce pitilessness and impiety, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the rulers of the outer darkness.

13Dizei-lhes: Renunciai ao ateísmo, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos do uivo e ranger de dentes. Dizei-lhes: Renunciai às feitiçarias, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos do grande frio e da saraiva das trevas exteriores. Dizei-lhes: Renunciai à blasfêmia, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos do grande dragão das trevas exteriores.

13Say unto them: Renounce atheism, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the howling and grinding of teeth. Say unto them: Renounce magic potions, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the great cold and the hail of the outer darkness. Say unto them: Renounce blasphemy, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from the great dragon of the outer darkness.

14Dizei-lhes: Renunciai às doutrinas do erro, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e sejais salvos de todos os castigos do grande dragão das trevas exteriores. Dizei àqueles que ensinam as doutrinas do erro e a todo aquele que por elas é instruído: Ai de vós, porque, se não vos arrependerdes e não abandonardes o vosso erro, passareis para os castigos do grande dragão e das trevas exteriores, o que é sumamente terrível, e nunca sereis lançados para cima ao mundo, mas ficareis inexistentes até o fim.

14Say unto them: Renounce the doctrines of error, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and be saved from all the chastisements of the great dragon of the outer darkness. Say unto those who teach the doctrines of error and to every one who is instructed by them: Woe unto you, for, if ye do not repent and abandon your error, ye will go into the chastisements of the great dragon and of the outer darkness, which is exceedingly evil, and never will ye be cast up into the world, but will be non-existent until the end.

15Dizei àqueles que abandonam as doutrinas da verdade do Primeiro Mistério: Ai de vós, pois o vosso castigo é aflitivo em comparação com o de todos os homens. Pois habitareis no grande frio e no gelo e na saraiva no meio do dragão e das trevas exteriores, e jamais desde esta hora sereis lançados para cima ao mundo, antes ficareis congelados naquela região, e na dissolução do universo perecereis e ficareis inexistentes eternamente.

15Say unto those who abandon the doctrines of truth of the First Mystery: Woe unto you, for your chastisement is sad compared with that of all men. For ye will abide in the great cold and ice and hail in the midst of the dragon and of the outer darkness, and ye will never from this hour on be cast up into the world, but ye shall be frozen up in that region and at the dissolution of the universe ye will perish and become non-existent eternally.

16Dizei antes aos homens do mundo: Sede serenos, para que possais receber os mistérios da Luz e subirdes às alturas ao Reino da Luz. Dizei-lhes: Sede amigos dos homens, para que sejais dignos dos mistérios da Luz e subais às alturas ao Reino da Luz. Dizei-lhes: Sede mansos, para que recebais os mistérios da Luz e subais às alturas ao Reino da Luz.

16Say rather to the men of the world: Be calm, that ye may receive the mysteries of the Light and go on high into the Light-kingdom. Say unto them: Be ye loving-unto-men, that ye may be worthy of the mysteries of the Light and go on high into the Light-kingdom. Say unto them: Be ye gentle, that ye may receive the mysteries of the Light and go on high into the Light-kingdom.

17Dizei-lhes: Sede pacificadores, para que recebais os mistérios da Luz e subais às alturas ao Reino da Luz. Dizei-lhes: Sede misericordiosos, para que recebais os mistérios da Luz e subais às alturas ao Reino da Luz. Dizei-lhes: Dai esmolas, para que recebais os mistérios da Luz e subais às alturas ao Reino da Luz.

17Say unto them: Be ye peaceful, that ye may receive the mysteries of the Light and go on high into the Light-kingdom. Say unto them: Be ye merciful, that ye may receive the mysteries of the Light and go on high into the Light-kingdom. Say unto them: Give ye alms, that ye may receive the mysteries of the Light and go on high into the Light-kingdom.

18Dizei-lhes: Socorrei os pobres e os enfermos e os aflitos, para que recebais os mistérios da Luz e subais às alturas ao Reino da Luz. Dizei-lhes: Sede amantes de Deus, para que recebais os mistérios da Luz e subais às alturas ao Reino da Luz. Dizei-lhes: Sede justos, para que recebais os mistérios da Luz e subais às alturas ao Reino da Luz.

18Say unto them: Minister unto the poor and the sick and distressed, that ye may receive the mysteries of the Light and go on high into the Light-kingdom. Say unto them: Be ye loving-unto-God, that ye may receive the mysteries of the Light and go on high into the Light-kingdom. Say unto them: Be ye righteous, that ye may receive the mysteries of the Light and go on high into the Light-kingdom.

19Dizei-lhes: Sede benignos, para que recebais os mistérios da Luz e subais às alturas ao Reino da Luz. Dizei-lhes: Renunciai a tudo, para que recebais os mistérios da Luz e subais às alturas ao Reino da Luz. Estes são todos os marcos dos caminhos para aqueles que são dignos dos mistérios da Luz.

19Say unto them: Be good, that ye may receive the mysteries of the Light and go on high into the Light-kingdom. Say unto them: Renounce all, that ye may receive the mysteries of the Light and go on high into the Light-kingdom. These are all the boundaries of the ways for those who are worthy of the mysteries of the Light.

20A tais pessoas, pois, que renunciaram segundo esta renúncia, dai os mistérios da Luz e não lhos oculteis em absoluto, ainda que tenham sido pecadores e tenham vivido em todos os pecados e em todas as iniquidades do mundo, todas as quais vos relatei, a fim de que se convertam, se arrependam e permaneçam na submissão que acabo de vos referir. Concedei-lhes os mistérios do Reino da Luz e não lhos retenhais de modo algum;

20Unto such, therefore, who have renounced in this renunciation, give the mysteries of the Light and hide them not from them at all, even though they are sinners and they have been in all the sins and all the iniquities of the world, all of which I have recounted unto you, in order that they may turn and repent and be in the submission which I have just recounted unto you. Give unto them the mysteries of the Light-kingdom and hide them not from them at all;

21Pois foi por causa do pecado que trouxe os mistérios ao mundo, para perdoar todos os seus pecados que cometeram desde o princípio. Por esta razão vos disse outrora: Não vim chamar os justos. Agora, pois, trouxe os mistérios para que os seus pecados sejam perdoados a cada um e eles sejam acolhidos no Reino da Luz. Pois os mistérios são a dádiva do Primeiro Mistério, para que ele apague os pecados e as iniquidades de todos os pecadores.

21For it is because of sinfulness that I have brought the mysteries into the world, that I may forgive all their sins which they have committed from the beginning on. For this cause have I said unto you aforetime: I am not come to call the righteous. Now, therefore, I have brought the mysteries that their sins may be forgiven for every one and they be received into the Light-kingdom. For the mysteries are the gift of the First Mystery, that he may wipe out the sins and iniquities of all sinners.
