1Capítulo 11 - Solicite que enviem um mensageiro a Antioquia.

1Chapter 11 — Request to them to send a messenger to Antioch.

2A vossa oração chegou à Igreja que está em Antioquia, na Síria.

2Your prayer has reached to the Church which is at Antioch in Syria.

3Vindo daquele lugar acorrentado, muito aceitável a Deus, saúdo a todos; Eu que não sou digno de ser denominado daí, visto que sou o menor deles.

3Coming from that place bound with chains, most acceptable to God, I salute all; I who am not worthy to be styled from thence, inasmuch as I am the least of them.

4No entanto, de acordo com a vontade de Deus, fui considerado digno desta honra, não que eu tenha qualquer sensação de tê-la merecido, mas pela graça de Deus, que desejo que me seja perfeitamente dada, para que através de suas orações eu possa chegar a Deus.

4Nevertheless, according to the will of God, I have been thought worthy of this honour, not that I have any sense of having deserved it, but by the grace of God, which I wish may be perfectly given to me, that through your prayers I may attain to God.

5Para, portanto, que a vossa obra seja completa tanto na terra como no céu, é apropriado que, para honra de Deus, a vossa Igreja eleja algum delegado digno; para que ele, viajando para a Síria, possa parabenizá-los por estarem agora em paz e terem sido restaurados à sua grandeza adequada, e por sua constituição adequada ter sido restabelecida entre eles.

5In order, therefore, that your work may be complete both on earth and in heaven, it is fitting that, for the honour of God, your Church should elect some worthy delegate; so that he, journeying into Syria, may congratulate them that they are now at peace, and are restored to their proper greatness, and that their proper constitution has been re-established among them.

6Parece-me então apropriado que você envie alguém de seu número com uma epístola, para que, em companhia deles, ele possa se alegrar com a tranquilidade que, de acordo com a vontade de Deus, eles obtiveram, e porque, através de suas orações, eles agora chegaram ao porto.

6It seems then to me a becoming thing, that you should send some one of your number with an epistle, so that, in company with them, he may rejoice over the tranquility which, according to the will of God, they have obtained, and because that, through your prayers, they have now reached the harbour.

7Como pessoas perfeitas, vocês também devem almejar as coisas que são perfeitas.

7As persons who are perfect, ye should also aim at those things which are perfect.

8Pois quando você deseja fazer o bem, Deus também está pronto para ajudá-lo.

8For when ye are desirous to do well, God is also ready to assist you.

9As vossas orações chegaram à Igreja de Antioquia e ela está em paz.

9Your prayers have reached to the Church of Antioch, and it is at peace.

10Vindo daquele lugar com destino, saúdo a todos; Eu que não sou digno de ser denominado daí, visto que sou o menor deles.

10Coming from that place bound, I salute all; I who am not worthy to be styled from thence, inasmuch as I am the least of them.

11No entanto, de acordo com a vontade de Deus, fui considerado digno desta honra, não que eu tenha qualquer sensação de tê-la merecido, mas pela graça de Deus, que desejo que me seja perfeitamente dada, para que através de suas orações eu possa chegar a Deus.

11Nevertheless, according to the will of God, I have been thought worthy of this honour, not that I have any sense of having deserved it, but by the grace of God, which I wish may be perfectly given to me, that through your prayers I may attain to God.

13O que me parece adequado ser feito é isto: que você envie a alguém de seu número uma epístola, para que, em companhia deles, ele possa se alegrar com a tranquilidade que, de acordo com a vontade de Deus, eles obtiveram, e porque, através de suas orações, garanti a Cristo como um porto seguro.

13What appears to me proper to be done is this, that you should send some one of your number with an epistle, so that, in company with them, he may rejoice over the tranquillity which, according to the will of God, they have obtained, and because that, through your prayers, I have secured Christ as a safe harbour.

14Como pessoas perfeitas, vocês também devem almejar as coisas que são perfeitas.

14As persons who are perfect, ye should also aim at those things which are perfect.

15Pois quando você deseja fazer o bem, Deus também está pronto para ajudá-lo.

15For when ye are desirous to do well, God is also ready to assist you.
