1Revelation of John: Revelation of Saint John the Theologian.

2Após a ascensão de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, I João ficou sozinho no Monte Tabor, onde também Ele nos mostrou Sua divindade imaculada; e como não consegui ficar de pé, caí no chão, orei ao Senhor e disse: Ó Senhor meu Deus, que me consideraste digno de ser Teu servo, ouve minha voz e ensina-me sobre Tua vinda.

2After the taking up of our Lord Jesus Christ, I John was alone upon Mount Tabor, where also He showed us His undefiled Godhead; and as I was not able to stand, I fell upon the ground, and prayed to the Lord, and said: O Lord my God, who hast deemed me worthy to be Thy servant, hear my voice, and teach me about Thy coming.

3Quando vieres à terra, o que acontecerá? O céu e a terra, e o sol e a lua, o que acontecerá com eles nesses tempos? Revele-me tudo; pois estou encorajado, porque ouves o Teu servo.

3When Thou shalt come to the earth, what will happen? The heaven and the earth, and the sun and the moon, what will happen to them in those times? Reveal to me all; for I am emboldened, because Thou listenest to Thy servant.

4E passei sete dias orando; e depois disso uma nuvem de luz me arrebatou da montanha e me colocou diante da face do céu.

4And I spent seven days praying; and after this a cloud of light caught me up from the mountain, and set me before the face of the heaven.

5E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Olha para cima, João, servo de Deus, e sabe.

5And I heard a voice saying to me: Look up, John, servant of God, and know.

6E olhando para cima, vi o céu aberto, e de dentro do céu saiu um cheiro de perfumes de cheiro muito doce; e vi uma grande inundação de luz, mais resplandecente que o sol.

6And having looked up, I saw the heaven opened, and there came forth from within the heaven a smell of perfumes of much sweet odour; and I saw an exceeding great flood of light, more resplendent than the sun.

7E novamente ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Eis o justo João.

7And again I heard a voice saying to me: Behold, righteous John.

8E dirigi minha visão e vi um livro caído, da espessura, pensei, de sete montanhas; e a extensão disso a mente do homem não pode compreender, tendo sete selos.

8And I directed my sight, and saw a book lying, of the thickness, methought, of seven mountains; and the length of it the mind of man cannot comprehend, having seven seals.

9E eu disse: Ó Senhor meu Deus, revela-me o que está escrito neste livro.

9And I said: O Lord my God, reveal to me what is written in this book.

10E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Ouve, justo João.

10And I heard a voice saying to me: Hear, righteous John.

11Neste livro que você vê estão escritas as coisas que estão no céu, e as coisas na terra, e as coisas no abismo, e os julgamentos e justiça de toda a raça humana.

11In this book which thou seest there have been written the things in the heaven, and the things in the earth, and the things in the abyss, and the judgments and righteousness of all the human race.

12E eu disse: Senhor, quando acontecerão essas coisas? e o que esses tempos trazem? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Ouve, justo João.

12And I said: Lord, when shall these things come to pass? and what do those times bring? And I heard a voice saying to me: Hear, righteous John.

13Haverá naquele tempo abundância de milho e vinho, como nunca houve na terra, nem jamais haverá até que esses tempos cheguem.

13There shall be in that time abundance of corn and wine, such as there hath never been upon the earth, nor shall ever be until those times come.

14Então a espiga produzirá meio choenix, e a curva do ramo produzirá mil cachos, e o cacho produzirá meio jarro de vinho; e no ano seguinte não será encontrado na face de toda a terra meio choenix de milho ou meio jarro de vinho.

14Then the ear of corn shall produce a half choenix, and the bend of the branch shall produce a thousand clusters, and the cluster shall produce a half jar of wine; and in the following year there shall not be found upon the face of all the earth a half choenix of corn or a half jar of wine.

15E novamente eu disse: Senhor, depois disso, o que farás? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Ouve, justo João.

15And again I said: Lord, thereafter what wilt Thou do? And I heard a voice saying to me: Hear, righteous John.

16Então aparecerá o negador, e aquele que está separado nas trevas, que é chamado de Anticristo.

16Then shall appear the denier, and he who is set apart in the darkness, who is called Antichrist.

17E novamente eu disse: Senhor, revela-me como ele é.

17And again I said: Lord, reveal to me what he is like.

18E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: O aspecto do seu rosto é sombrio; os cabelos da sua cabeça são afiados como dardos; suas sobrancelhas como as de uma fera; seu olho direito como a estrela que nasce pela manhã, e o outro como o de um leão; sua boca cerca de um côvado; seus dentes são longos; seus dedos pareciam foices; a marca dos seus pés tem dois palmos; e em seu rosto uma inscrição: Anticristo; ele será exaltado até o céu e lançado até o Hades, fazendo falsas exibições.

18And I heard a voice saying to me: The appearance of his face is dusky; the hairs of his head are sharp, like darts; his eyebrows like a wild beast's; his right eye like the star which rises in the morning, and the other like a lion's; his mouth about one cubit; his teeth span long; his fingers like scythes; the print of his feet of two spans; and on his face an inscription, Antichrist; he shall be exalted even to heaven, and shall be cast down even to Hades, making false displays.

19E então farei com que o céu fique de bronze, para que não dê umidade à terra; e esconderei as nuvens em lugares escondidos, para que não tragam umidade sobre a terra; e darei ordem às trombetas do vento, para que o vento não sopre sobre a terra.

19And then will I make the heaven brazen, so that it shall not give moisture upon the earth; and I will hide the clouds in secret places, so that they shall not bring moisture upon the earth; and I will command the horns of the wind, so that the wind shall not blow upon the earth.

20E novamente eu disse: Senhor, e por quantos anos ele fará isso na terra? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Ouve, justo João.

20And again I said: Lord, and how many years will he do this upon the earth? And I heard a voice saying to me: Hear, righteous John.

21Três anos serão esses tempos; e farei os três anos como três meses, e os três meses como três semanas, e as três semanas como três dias, e os três dias como três horas, e as três horas como três segundos, como disse o profeta Davi: O seu trono derrubaste até a terra; Encurtaste os dias do seu tempo; Você derramou vergonha sobre ele.

21Three years shall those times be; and I will make the three years like three months, and the three months like three weeks, and the three weeks like three days, and the three days like three hours, and the three hours like three seconds, as said the prophet David, His throne hast Thou broken down to the ground; Thou hast shortened the days of his time; Thou hast poured shame upon him.

22E então enviarei Enoque e Elias para condená-lo; e mostrarão que ele é mentiroso e enganador; e ele os matará no altar, como disse o profeta: Então oferecerão bezerros sobre o teu altar.

22And then I shall send forth Enoch and Elias to convict him; and they shall show him to be a liar and a deceiver; and he shall kill them at the altar, as said the prophet, Then shall they offer calves upon Thine altar.

23E novamente eu disse: Senhor, e depois disso o que acontecerá? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Ouve, justo João.

23And again I said: Lord, and after that what will come to pass? And I heard a voice saying to me: Hear, righteous John.

24Então toda a raça humana morrerá, e não haverá um homem vivo em toda a terra.

24Then all the human race shall die, and there shall not be a living man upon all the earth.

25E novamente eu disse: Senhor, depois disso, o que farás? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Ouve, justo João.

25And again I said: Lord, after that what wilt Thou do? And I heard a voice saying to me: Hear, righteous John.

26Então enviarei os meus anjos, e eles tomarão os chifres de carneiro que estão sobre as nuvens; e Miguel e Gabriel sairão do céu e tocarão aquelas trombetas, como o profeta Davi predisse: Com a voz de uma trombeta de trombeta.

26Then will I send forth mine angels, and they shall take the ram's horns that lie upon the cloud; and Michael and Gabriel shall go forth out of the heaven and sound with those horns, as the prophet David foretold, With the voice of a trumpet of horn.

27E a voz da trombeta será ouvida de um lado ao outro do mundo; e à voz daquela trombeta toda a terra será abalada, como o profeta predisse: E à voz do pássaro todas as plantas surgirão; isto é, à voz do arcanjo toda a raça humana se levantará.

27And the voice of the trumpet shall be heard from the one quarter of the world to the other; and from the voice of that trumpet all the earth shall be shaken, as the prophet foretold, And at the voice of the bird every plant shall arise; that is, at the voice of the archangel all the human race shall arise.

28E novamente eu disse: Senhor, aqueles que estão mortos desde Adão até hoje, e que habitam no Hades desde o princípio do mundo, e que morrem nos últimos tempos, como surgirão? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Ouve, justo João.

28And again I said: Lord, those who are dead from Adam even to this day, and who dwell in Hades from the beginning of the world, and who die at the last ages, what like shall they arise? And I heard a voice saying to me: Hear, righteous John.

29Toda a raça humana surgirá com trinta anos de idade.

29All the human race shall arise thirty years old.

30E novamente eu disse: Senhor, eles morrem homens e mulheres, e alguns velhos, e alguns jovens, e alguns bebês.

30And again I said: Lord, they die male and female, and some old, and some young, and some infants.

31Na ressurreição, como surgirão? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Ouve, justo João.

31In the resurrection what like shall they arise? And I heard a voice saying to me: Hear, righteous John.

32Assim como as abelhas são, e não diferem umas das outras, mas têm todas a mesma aparência e o mesmo tamanho, assim também será todo homem na ressurreição.

32Just as the bees are, and differ not one from another, but are all of one appearance and one size, so also shall every man be in the resurrection.

33Não há rostos justos, nem rosados, nem negros, nem etíopes, nem diferentes; mas todos surgirão da mesma aparência e da mesma estatura.

33There is neither fair, nor ruddy, nor black, neither Ethiopian nor different countenances; but they shall all arise of one appearance and one stature.

34Toda a raça humana surgirá sem corpos, como eu lhes disse que na ressurreição eles não se casarão nem serão dados em casamento, mas serão como os anjos de Deus.

34All the human race shall arise without bodies, as I told you that in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God.

35E novamente eu disse: Senhor, é possível naquele mundo reconhecer-se, um irmão seu irmão, ou um amigo seu amigo, ou um pai seus próprios filhos, ou os filhos seus próprios pais? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Ouve, João.

35And again I said: Lord, is it possible in that world to recognise each other, a brother his brother, or a friend his friend, or a father his own children, or the children their own parents? And I heard a voice saying to me: Hear, John.

36Para os justos há reconhecimento, mas para os pecadores não; eles não podem na ressurreição reconhecer um ao outro.

36To the righteous there is recognition, but to the sinners not at all; they cannot in the resurrection recognise each other.

37E novamente eu João disse: Senhor, há lembrança das coisas que estão aqui, sejam campos ou vinhas, ou outras coisas aqui? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Ouve, justo João.

37And again I John said: Lord, is there there recollection of the things that are here, either fields or vineyards, or other things here? And I heard a voice saying to me: Hear, righteous John.

38O profeta Davi fala, dizendo: Lembrei-me de que somos pó; quanto ao homem, os seus dias são como a erva; como a flor do campo assim florescerá; porque passou um vento sobre ela, e não existirá mais, e não saberá mais o seu lugar.

38The prophet David speaks, saying, I remembered that we are dust: as for man, his days are as grass; as a flower of the field, so he shall flourish: for a wind hath passed over it, and it shall be no more, and it shall not any longer know its place.

39E novamente o mesmo disse: Seu espírito sairá e ele retornará à sua terra; naquele dia todos os seus pensamentos perecerão.

39And again the same said: His spirit shall go forth, and he returns to his earth; in that day all his thoughts shall perish.

40E novamente eu disse: Senhor, e depois disso, o que farás? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Ouve, justo João.

40And again I said: Lord, and after that what wilt Thou do? And I heard a voice saying to me: Hear, righteous John.

41Então enviarei meus anjos sobre a face de toda a terra, e eles erguerão da terra tudo que é honrado e tudo que é precioso, e as imagens veneráveis ​​e sagradas, e as cruzes gloriosas e preciosas, e os vasos sagrados das igrejas, e os livros divinos e sagrados; e todas as coisas preciosas e sagradas serão levantadas pelas nuvens no ar.

41Then will I send forth mine angels over the face of all the earth, and they shall lift off the earth everything honourable, and everything precious, and the venerable and holy images, and the glorious and precious crosses, and the sacred vessels of the churches, and the divine and sacred books; and all the precious and holy things shall be lifted up by clouds into the air.

42E então ordenarei que seja levantado o grande e venerável cetro, sobre o qual estendi minhas mãos, e todas as ordens de meus anjos o reverenciarão.

42And then will I order to be lifted up the great and venerable sceptre, on which I stretched forth my hands, and all the orders of my angels shall do reverence to it.

43E então toda a raça dos homens será elevada às nuvens, como o apóstolo Paulo predisse.

43And then shall be lifted up all the race of men upon clouds, as the Apostle Paul foretold.

44Junto com eles seremos arrebatados nas nuvens para encontrar o Senhor nos ares.

44Along with them we shall be snatched up in clouds to meet the Lord in the air.

45E então surgirão todos os espíritos malignos, tanto na terra como no abismo, onde quer que estejam na face de toda a terra, desde o nascer do sol até o pôr do sol, e eles serão unidos àquele que é servido pelo diabo, isto é, o Anticristo, e serão elevados sobre as nuvens.

45And then shall come forth every evil spirit, both in the earth and in the abyss, wherever they are on the face of all the earth, from the rising of the sun even to the setting, and they shall be united to him that is served by the devil, that is, Antichrist, and they shall be lifted up upon the clouds.

46E novamente eu disse: Senhor, e depois disso, o que farás? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Ouve, justo João.

46And again I said: Lord, and after that what wilt Thou do? And I heard a voice saying to me: Hear, righteous John.

47Então enviarei meus anjos sobre a face de toda a terra, e eles queimarão a terra oito mil e quinhentos côvados, e as grandes montanhas serão queimadas, e todas as rochas serão derretidas e se tornarão como pó, e toda árvore será queimada, e todo animal, e toda coisa rastejante que rasteja sobre a terra, e toda coisa que se move sobre a face da terra, e toda coisa voadora voando no ar; e não haverá mais sobre a face de toda a terra nada que se mova, e a terra ficará imóvel.

47Then shall I send forth mine angels over the face of all the earth, and they shall burn up the earth eight thousand five hundred cubits, and the great mountains shall be burnt up, and all the rocks shall be melted and shall become as dust, and every tree shall be burnt up, and every beast, and every creeping thing creeping upon the earth, and every thing moving upon the face of the earth, and every flying thing flying in the air; and there shall no longer be upon the face of all the earth anything moving, and the earth shall be without motion.

48E novamente eu disse: Senhor, e depois disso, o que farás? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Ouve, justo João.

48And again I said: Lord, and after that what wilt Thou do? And I heard a voice saying to me: Hear, righteous John.

49Então descobrirei as quatro partes do oriente, e virão quatro grandes ventos, e varrerão toda a face da terra, de uma extremidade à outra da terra; e o Senhor varrerá o pecado da terra e a terra ficará branca como a neve e se tornará como uma folha de papel, sem caverna, nem montanha, nem colina, nem rocha; mas a face da terra, desde o nascente até o poente, será como uma mesa e branca como a neve; e os rins da terra serão consumidos pelo fogo e clamará a mim, dizendo: Sou virgem diante de ti, ó Senhor, e não há pecado em mim; como disse outrora o profeta Davi: Aspergirás-me com hissopo e ficarei puro; Tu me lavarás e ficarei mais branco que a neve.

49Then shall I uncover the four parts of the east, and there shall come forth four great winds, and they shall sweep all the face of the earth from the one end of the earth to the other; and the Lord shall sweep sin from off the earth, and the earth shall be made white like snow, and it shall become as a leaf of paper, without cave, or mountain, or hill, or rock; but the face of the earth from the rising even to the setting of the sun shall be like a table, and white as snow; and the reins of the earth shall be consumed by fire, and it shall cry unto me, saying, I am a virgin before thee, O Lord, and there is no sin in me; as the prophet David said aforetime, Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be made pure; Thou shalt wash me, and I shall be made whiter than snow.

50E novamente ele disse: Todo abismo será preenchido, e todos os montes e colinas serão nivelados, e os lugares tortuosos serão endireitados, e os caminhos acidentados, planos; e toda a carne verá a salvação de Deus.

50And again he said: Every chasm shall be filled up, and every mountain and hill brought low, and the crooked places shall be made straight, and the rough ways into smooth; and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

51E novamente eu disse: Senhor, e depois disso, o que farás? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Ouve, justo João.

51And again I said: Lord, and after that what wilt Thou do? And I heard a voice saying to me: Hear, righteous John.

52Então a terra será purificada do pecado e toda a terra se encherá de um cheiro suave, porque estou prestes a descer sobre a terra; e então surgirá o grande e venerável cetro, com milhares de anjos adorando-o, como eu disse antes; e então aparecerá do céu o sinal do Filho do homem com poder e grande glória.

52Then shall the earth be cleansed from sin, and all the earth shall be filled with a sweet smell, because I am about to come down upon the earth; and then shall come forth the great and venerable sceptre, with thousands of angels worshipping it, as I said before; and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man from the heaven with power and great glory.

53E então o praticante da iniqüidade com os seus servos verá isso e rangerá os dentes excessivamente, e todos os espíritos imundos fugirão.

53And then the worker of iniquity with his servants shall behold it, and gnash his teeth exceedingly, and all the unclean spirits shall be turned to flight.

54E então, tomados por um poder invisível, sem meios de fuga, rangerão os dentes contra ele, dizendo-lhe: Onde está o teu poder? Como você nos desviou? e fugimos e caímos da glória que tínhamos ao lado daquele que vem para nos julgar e a toda a raça humana.

54And then, seized by invisible power, having no means of flight, they shall gnash their teeth against him, saying to him: Where is thy power? How hast thou led us astray? and we have fled away, and have fallen away from the glory which we had beside Him who is coming to judge us, and the whole human race.

55Ai de nós! porque Ele nos bane para as trevas exteriores.

55Woe to us! because He banishes us into outer darkness.

56E novamente eu disse: Senhor, e depois disso, o que farás? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Então enviarei um anjo do céu, e ele clamará com grande voz, dizendo: Ouve, ó terra, e fortalece-te, diz o Senhor; pois estou descendo para ti.

56And again I said: Lord, and after that what wilt Thou do? And I heard a voice saying to me: Then will I send an angel out of heaven, and he shall cry with a loud voice, saying, Hear, O earth, and be strong, saith the Lord; for I am coming down to thee.

57E a voz do anjo será ouvida desde um extremo do mundo até o outro, e até a parte mais remota do abismo.

57And the voice of the angel shall be heard from the one end of the world even to the other, and even to the remotest part of the abyss.

58E então será abalado todo o poder dos anjos e dos de muitos olhos, e haverá um grande barulho nos céus, e as nove regiões do céu serão abaladas, e haverá medo e espanto sobre todos os anjos.

58And then shall be shaken all the power of the angels and of the many-eyed ones, and there shall be a great noise in the heavens, and the nine regions of the heaven shall be shaken, and there shall be fear and astonishment upon all the angels.

59E então os céus serão rasgados desde o nascer do sol até o pôr do sol, e uma multidão incontável de anjos descerá à terra; e então os tesouros dos céus serão abertos, e farão descer todas as coisas preciosas e o perfume do incenso, e farão descer à terra Jerusalém vestida como uma noiva.

59And then the heavens shall be rent from the rising of the sun even to the setting, and an innumerable multitude of angels shall come down to the earth; and then the treasures of the heavens shall be opened, and they shall bring down every precious thing, and the perfume of incense, and they shall bring down to the earth Jerusalem robed like a bride.

60E então irão diante de mim miríades de anjos e arcanjos, carregando meu trono, clamando: Santo, santo, santo, Senhor de Sabaoth; o céu e a terra estão cheios de Tua glória.

60And then there shall go before me myriads of angels and archangels, bearing my throne, crying out, Holy, holy, holy, Lord of Sabaoth; heaven and earth are full of Thy glory.

61E então surgirei com poder e grande glória, e todo olho nas nuvens me verá; e então se dobrará todo joelho das coisas nos céus, e das coisas na terra, e das coisas debaixo da terra.

61And then will I come forth with power and great glory, and every eye in the clouds shall see me; and then every knee shall bend, of things in heaven, and things on earth, and things under the earth.

62E então o céu permanecerá vazio; e eu descerei sobre a terra, e tudo o que está no ar será derrubado sobre a terra, e toda a raça humana e todo espírito maligno junto com o Anticristo, e todos eles serão colocados nus diante de mim e acorrentados pelo pescoço.

62And then the heaven shall remain empty; and I will come down upon the earth, and all that is in the air shall be brought down upon the earth, and all the human race and every evil spirit along with Antichrist, and they shall all be set before me naked, and chained by the neck.

63E novamente eu disse: Senhor, o que será dos céus, e do sol, e da lua, junto com as estrelas? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Eis o justo João.

63And again I said: Lord, what will become of the heavens, and the sun, and the moon, along with the stars? And I heard a voice saying to me: Behold, righteous John.

64E olhei e vi um Cordeiro que tinha sete olhos e sete chifres.

64And I looked, and saw a Lamb having seven eyes and seven horns.

65E novamente ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Mandarei o Cordeiro vir diante de mim e direi: Quem abrirá este livro? E todas as multidões de anjos responderão: Dá este livro ao Cordeiro para que o abra.

65And again I heard a voice saying to me: I will bid the Lamb come before me, and will say, Who will open this book? And all the multitudes of the angels will answer, Give this book to the Lamb to open it.

66And then will I order the book to be opened.

67E quando Ele abrir o primeiro selo, as estrelas do céu cairão, de uma extremidade à outra.

67And when He shall open the first seal, the stars of the heaven shall fall, from the one end of it to the other.

68E quando Ele abrir o segundo selo, a lua estará escondida e não haverá luz nela.

68And when He shall open the second seal, the moon shall be hidden, and there shall be no light in her.

69E quando Ele abrir o terceiro selo, a luz do sol será retida e não haverá luz sobre a terra.

69And when He shall open the third seal, the light of the sun shall be withheld, and there shall not be light upon the earth.

70E quando Ele abrir o quarto selo, os céus serão dissolvidos e o ar será lançado em total confusão, como diz o profeta: E os céus são obra das Tuas mãos; eles perecerão, mas tu permanecerás, e todos envelhecerão como uma roupa.

70And when He shall open the fourth seal, the heavens shall be dissolved, and the air shall be thrown into utter confusion, as saith the prophet: And the heavens are the works of Thy hands; they shall perish, but Thou endurest, and they shall all wax old as a garment.

71E quando Ele abrir o quinto selo, a terra será rasgada e todos os tribunais sobre a face de toda a terra serão revelados.

71And when He shall open the fifth seal, the earth shall be rent, and all the tribunals upon the face of all the earth shall be revealed.

72E quando Ele abrir o sexto selo, a metade do mar desaparecerá.

72And when He shall open the sixth seal, the half of the sea shall disappear.

73E quando Ele abrir o sétimo selo, o Hades será descoberto.

73And when He shall open the seventh seal, Hades shall be uncovered.

74E eu disse: Senhor, quem será o primeiro a ser questionado e a receber julgamento? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Os espíritos imundos, juntamente com o adversário.

74And I said: Lord, who will be the first to be questioned, and to receive judgment? And I heard a voice saying to me, The unclean spirits, along with the adversary.

75Convido-os a irem para a escuridão exterior, onde estão as profundezas.

75I bid them go into outer darkness, where the depths are.

76E eu disse: Senhor, e em que lugar está? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Ouve, justo João.

76And I said: Lord, and in what place does it lie? And I heard a voice saying to me: Hear, righteous John.

77Uma pedra tão grande quanto a que um homem de trinta anos pode rolar e deixar cair nas profundezas, mesmo caindo por vinte anos não chegará ao fundo do Hades; como o profeta Davi disse antes: E Ele fez das trevas o seu lugar secreto.

77As big a stone as a man of thirty years old can roll, and let go down into the depth, even falling down for twenty years will not arrive at the bottom of Hades; as the prophet David said before, And He made darkness His secret place.

78E eu disse: Senhor, e depois deles que nação será questionada? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Ouve, justo João.

78And I said: Lord, and after them what nation will be questioned? And I heard a voice saying to me: Hear, righteous John.

79Serão questionadas sobre a raça de Adão aquelas nações, tanto os gregos como aqueles que acreditaram em ídolos, e no sol, e nas estrelas, e aqueles que contaminaram a fé pela heresia, e que não acreditaram na santa ressurreição, e que não confessaram o Pai, e o Filho, e o Espírito Santo: então eu os enviarei para o Hades, como o profeta Davi predisse: Que os pecadores sejam transformados no Hades, e todas as nações que se esquecem de Deus.

79There will be questioned of Adam's race those nations, both the Greek and those who have believed in idols, and in the sun, and in the stars, and those who have defiled the faith by heresy, and who have not believed the holy resurrection, and who have not confessed the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost: then will I send them away into Hades, as the prophet David foretold, Let the sinners be turned into Hades, and all the nations that forget God.

80E novamente ele disse: Eles foram colocados no Hades como ovelhas; a morte será seu pastor.

80And again he said: They were put in Hades like sheep; death shall be their shepherd.

81E novamente eu disse: Senhor, e depois deles quem julgarás? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Ouve, justo João.

81And again I said: Lord, and after them whom wilt Thou judge? And I heard a voice saying to me: Hear, righteous John.

82Então será examinada a raça dos hebreus, que me pregaram no madeiro como um malfeitor.

82Then the race of the Hebrews shall be examined, who nailed me to the tree like a malefactor.

83E eu disse: E que castigo estes receberão, e em que lugar, visto que te fizeram tais coisas? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Irão para o Tártaro, como predisse o profeta David: Clamaram, e não houve quem os salvasse; ao Senhor, e Ele não os ouviu.

83And I said: And what punishment will these get, and in what place, seeing that they did such things to Thee? And I heard a voice saying to me: They shall go away into Tartarus, as the prophet David foretold, They cried out, and there was none to save; to the Lord, and He did not hearken to them.

84E novamente o apóstolo Paulo disse: Todos os que pecaram sem lei também perecerão sem lei, e todos os que pecaram segundo a lei serão julgados por meio da lei.

84And again the Apostle Paul said: As many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in law shall be judged by means of law.

85E novamente eu disse: Senhor, e aqueles que receberam o batismo? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Então será examinada a raça dos cristãos, que receberam o batismo; e então os justos virão ao meu comando, e os anjos irão e os recolherão dentre os pecadores, como o profeta Davi predisse: O Senhor não permitirá a vara dos pecadores na sorte dos justos; e todos os justos serão colocados à minha direita e brilharão como o sol.

85And again I said: Lord, and what of those who have received baptism? And I heard a voice saying to me: Then the race of the Christians shall be examined, who have received baptism; and then the righteous shall come at my command, and the angels shall go and collect them from among the sinners, as the prophet David foretold: The Lord will not suffer the rod of the sinners in the lot of the righteous; and all the righteous shall be placed on my right hand, and shall shine like the sun.

86Como você vê, João, as estrelas do céu, que foram todas feitas juntas, mas diferem em luz, assim será com os justos e os pecadores; pois os justos brilharão como as luzes e como o sol, mas os pecadores permanecerão nas trevas.

86As thou seest, John, the stars of heaven, that they were all made together, but differ in light, so shall it be with the righteous and the sinners; for the righteous shall shine as lights and as the sun, but the sinners shall stand in darkness.

87E novamente eu disse: Senhor, e todos os cristãos vão para o mesmo castigo? - reis, sumos sacerdotes, sacerdotes, patriarcas, ricos e pobres, escravos e livres? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Ouve, justo João.

87And again I said: Lord, and do all the Christians go into one punishment?—kings, high priests, priests, patriarchs, rich and poor, bond and free? And I heard a voice saying to me: Hear, righteous John.

88Como o profeta David predisse: A expectativa dos pobres não perecerá para sempre.

88As the prophet David foretold, The expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.

89Agora, sobre os reis: eles serão conduzidos como escravos e chorarão como crianças; e quanto aos patriarcas, sacerdotes e levitas, daqueles que pecaram, eles serão separados em suas punições, de acordo com a natureza da transgressão peculiar de cada um - alguns no rio de fogo, e alguns no verme que não morre, e outros no poço de punição de sete bocas.

89Now about kings: they shall be driven like slaves, and shall weep like infants; and about patriarchs, and priests, and Levites, of those that have sinned, they shall be separated in their punishments, according to the nature of the peculiar transgression of each,—some in the river of fire, and some to the worm that dieth not, and others in the seven-mouthed pit of punishment.

90A esses castigos serão atribuídos os pecadores.

90To these punishments the sinners will be apportioned.

91E novamente eu disse: Senhor, e onde habitarão os justos? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Então o paraíso será revelado; e o mundo inteiro e o paraíso serão unidos, e os justos estarão na face de toda a terra com meus anjos, como o Espírito Santo predisse por meio do profeta Davi: Os justos herdarão a terra e nela habitarão para todo o sempre.

91And again I said: Lord, and where will the righteous dwell? And I heard a voice saying to me: Then shall paradise be revealed; and the whole world and paradise shall be made one, and the righteous shall be on the face of all the earth with my angels, as the Holy Spirit foretold through the prophet David: The righteous shall inherit the earth, and dwell therein for ever and ever.

92E novamente eu disse: Senhor, quão grande é a multidão dos anjos? e qual é o maior, o dos anjos ou o dos homens? E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Tão grande como é a multidão dos anjos, tão grande é a raça dos homens, como disse o profeta: Ele estabeleceu limites para as nações de acordo com o número dos anjos de Deus.

92And again I said: Lord, how great is the multitude of the angels? and which is the greater, that of angels or of men? And I heard a voice saying to me: As great as is the multitude of the angels, so great is the race of men, as the prophet has said, He set bounds to the nations according to the number of the angels of God.

93E novamente eu disse: Senhor, e depois disso, o que farás? e o que será do mundo? Revele-me tudo.

93And again I said: Lord, and after that what wilt Thou do? and what is to become of the world? Reveal to me all.

94E ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Ouve, justo João.

94And I heard a voice saying to me: Hear, righteous John.

95Depois disso não há dor, não há tristeza, não há gemido; não há lembrança dos males, não há lágrimas, não há inveja, não há ódio aos irmãos, não há injustiça, não há arrogância, não há calúnia, não há amargura, não há preocupações da vida, não há dor dos pais ou dos filhos, não há dor do ouro, não há pensamentos perversos, não há demônio, não há morte, não há noite, mas tudo é dia.

95After that there is no pain, there is no grief, there is no groaning; there is no recollection of evils, there are no tears, there is no envy, there is no hatred of brethren, there is no unrighteousness, there is no arrogance, there is no slander, there is no bitterness, there are none of the cares of life, there is no pain from parents or children, there is no pain from gold, there are no wicked thoughts, there is no devil, there is no death, there is no night, but all is day.

96Como eu disse antes: E tenho outras ovelhas que não são deste aprisco, isto é, homens que foram feitos como os anjos através de seu excelente curso de vida; também devo trazê-los, e eles ouvirão a minha voz, e haverá um rebanho, um pastor.

96As I said before, And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold, that is, men who have been made like the angels through their excellent course of life; them also must I bring, and they will hear my voice, and there shall be one fold, one shepherd.

97E novamente ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Eis que ouviste todas estas coisas, justo João; entregue-os a homens fiéis, para que eles também ensinem outros, e não os considerem levianamente, nem joguem nossas pérolas aos porcos, para que por acaso não as pisem.

97And again I heard a voice saying to me: Behold, thou hast heard all these things, righteous John; deliver them to faithful men, that they also may teach others, and not think lightly of them, nor cast our pearls before swine, lest perchance they should trample them with their feet.

98E enquanto eu ainda ouvia esta voz, a nuvem me derrubou e me colocou no Monte Tabor.

98And while I was still hearing this voice, the cloud brought me down, and put me on Mount Thabor.

99E veio a mim uma voz, dizendo: Bem-aventurados aqueles que guardam o julgamento e praticam a justiça em todos os tempos.

99And there came a voice to me, saying: Blessed are those who keep judgment and do righteousness in all time.

100E bem-aventurada a casa onde está esta descrição, como disse o Senhor: Aquele que me ama guarda as minhas palavras em Cristo Jesus, nosso Senhor; a Ele seja a glória para sempre, Amém.

100And blessed is the house where this description lies, as the Lord said, He that loveth me keepeth my sayings in Christ Jesus our Lord; to Him be glory for ever, Amen.
