3 Adão e Eva 9

1E Noé permaneceu rogando a Deus que o livrasse das águas do Dilúvio.

1And Noah stood asking God to save him from the waters of the Flood.

2Falou então Deus a Noé e disse-lhe: De toda espécie de aves toma um casal, macho e fêmea, das limpas; e das imundas também um casal, macho e fêmea.

2Then God talked to Noah, and said to him, "Of every kind of birds, take one pair, male and female of the clean; and of the unclean also one pair, male and female.

3Contudo, das aves limpas toma mais seis casais, macho e fêmea.

3Yet also of the clean take 6 more pairs, male and female.

4E Noé executou tudo isso.

4And Noah did all this.

5E quando todos haviam entrado na arca, Deus fechou a porta sobre eles com o Seu poder soberano.

5Then when they all had gotten into the ark, God shut to the door of the ark upon them by His power.

6Ele ordenou então que as comportas do céu se abrissem de par em par e derramassem cataratas de água copiosa.

6He then commanded the windows of heaven to open wide, and to pour down from them cataracts of water.

7E assim se fez, por determinação divina.

7And so it was; by God's order.

8E Ele ordenou que todas as fontes do abismo rebentassem e as profundezas jorrassem água sobre a face da terra, de sorte que as águas do mar transbordaram sobre todo o mundo, encapelando-se as torrentes.

8And He commanded all fountains to burst open, and the depths to pour forth water, upon the face of the earth, so that the sea all round rose above the whole world, and surged, and the deep waters arose.

9Ao se abrirem as comportas celestes, libertaram-se todos os mananciais e abismos das águas, e desataram-se os depósitos dos ventos com furacões, densas névoas, trevas e escuridão sobre a terra.

9Yet when the windows of heaven opened wide, all stores of water and depths were opened, and all the stores (locks) of the winds, and the whirlwind, thick mist, gloom and darkness spread abroad.

10O sol, a lua e as estrelas retiveram o seu resplendor.

10The sun and moon and stars, withheld their light.

11Foi um dia de pavor indizível, qual jamais houvera antes.

11It was a day of terror, such as had never been.

12O mar começou a erguer ondas gigantescas semelhantes a montanhas, cobrindo inteiramente a face da terra.

12Then the sea all round, began to raise its waves on high like mountains; and it covered the whole face of the earth.

13Ao verem isso os filhos de Sete, que haviam caído na devassidão e no adultério com as filhas de Caim, compreenderam que Deus Se irara contra eles e que Noé lhes dissera a pura verdade.

13Yet when the sons of Seth, that were fallen into wickedness and adultery with the children of Cain, saw this, they then knew that God was angry with them; and that Noah had told them the truth.

14Correram todos ao redor da arca, suplicando e implorando a Noé que lhes abrisse a porta; porquanto não podiam subir à Montanha Sagrada, cujas pedras ardiam como fogo abrasador.

14Then they all ran round the ark, to Noah, begging and entreating him to open for them the door of the ark; inasmuch as they could not climb the Holy Mountain, by reason of the stones thereof, that were like fire.

15Mas a arca permaneceu cerrada e selada pelo poder de Deus.

15Yet as to the ark, it was closed and sealed by the power of God.

16Um anjo do Senhor pousou sobre a arca e servia de capitão a Noé, a seus filhos e a todos os que estavam dentro dela.

16An angel of God sat upon the ark, and was like a captain to Noah, to his sons, and to all inside the ark.

17E as águas do Dilúvio cresceram sobre os filhos de Caim e os submergiram; eles começaram a afundar, e cumpriram-se as palavras que Noé lhes pregara, dizendo que as águas do Dilúvio viriam e os afogariam.

17And the waters of the flood increased on the children of Cain and overwhelmed them; and they began to sink, and the words of Noah were fulfilled, which he preached to them saying, the waters of the Flood should come and drown them.

18E as águas continuaram acima e abaixo de Noé e seus filhos, de modo que ficaram suspensos na arca; pela força das águas, a arca se ergueu da terra, e pereceu a carne de todo ser que se movia.

18And the waters continued above and below over Noah and his sons, until they were suspended in the ark; and by the strength of the water, the ark rose from the earth; and the flesh of every moving thing perished.

19E as águas subiram até cobrirem a terra e todos os altos montes; elevaram-se quinze côvados acima dos cumes dos altos montes, segundo o côvado do Espírito Santo, que equivale a três côvados humanos.

19And the water rose until it covered the earth, and until it covered all high mountains; and the waters rose above them, and above the tops of high mountains 15 cubits, by the cubit of the Holy Ghost, which is equal to three cubits of man.

20Assim as águas superaram em quarenta e cinco côvados o pico das mais altas cordilheiras.

20So that the number of these were 45 cubits above the highest mountains.

21As águas transportaram a arca e a conduziram ao sopé do jardim sagrado, perante o qual as águas, a chuva, os ventos e tudo o que havia na terra se curvaram em adoração reverente.

21And the water increased and bare the ark, and brought it to the lower side of the garden, which the waters, the rain, the whirlwind and all that went about on the earth, did worship.

22Assim também Noé, seus filhos e todos os que estavam no interior da arca inclinaram-se em adoração ao santo jardim.

22As did also Noah and his sons and all that was in the ark, they bowed in worship to the holy garden.

23E a inundação destruiu tudo o que existia sobre a face da terra e debaixo de todo o céu.

23And the water returned to its former state, and destroyed every thing that was upon the earth and under heaven.

24A arca vogava sobre as águas e elevava-se impelida pelos ventos, enquanto o anjo de Deus a guiava com segurança de oriente a ocidente.

24Yet the ark was floating on the waters and rose up before the winds; while the angel of God steered and led it from east to west.

25Assim vagou a arca sobre a face das águas por cento e cinquenta dias, repousando por fim sobre as montanhas de Ararate no vigésimo sétimo dia do mês de Tkarnt.

25And the ark thus moved about on the face of the waters 150 days, after that, the ark stood upon the mountains of Ararat, on the 27th day of the month of Tkarnt.
