3 Adão e Eva 13

1Depois disto, Noé reuniu seus filhos e construiu para eles uma cidade chamada Semanam, por serem oito as almas que saíram da arca.

1After this Noah took his sons, and built them a city and called it Semanan; as they were eight souls that came out of the ark.

2E habitaram Noé e seus filhos naquela montanha cerca de cem anos, até que gerou filhos e netos.

2And Noah and his sons dwelt on that mountain about a hundred years, until he had children and children's children.

3E Noé tomou uma videira e a plantou, cuidando dela até produzir fruto.

3And Noah took a root of vine and planted it, and dressed it until it yielded fruit.

4Era doce, e Noé tomou parte do fruto, espremeu dele vinho, tomou-o certa noite e bebeu; embriagou-se e foi deitar-se junto à esposa sem se dar conta.

4It was sweet, and Noah took some of it, and pressed wine out of it, and took it one night and drank of it, and was drunk, and he went in to sleep next to his wife unawares.

5Pela manhã, Cão seu filho entrou na casa e viu o pai descoberto, ébrio de vinho e sem sentidos.

5Then Ham, his son, came into the house in the morning and saw his father uncovered, and drunk with wine, and without sense to know anything.

6Pôs-se então Cão a rir dele, dizendo: Que é isto que fizeste, ó ancião?

6Then Ham his son kept on laughing at him, and said, "What is this thou hast done, O thou old man?"

7Contudo, o ancião não compreendeu o que ele dizia; somente a esposa de Noé o entendeu com clareza.

7Yet the old man understood not what he said; only Noah's wife understood it well.

8Saiu então Cão mofando de seu pai, e relatou a seus irmãos Sem e Jafé o ocorrido, escarnecendo de seus genitores.

8Then Ham went out laughing at his father, and told his brothers Shem and Japhet what his father had done; and laughed at his parents.

9Ficaram, porém, os irmãos indignados com ele e repreenderam-no severamente por tal conduta; temiam, contudo, a Cão por ser violento e áspero no falar.

9Yet his brothers were angry with him, and rebuked him well for so doing; because they were afraid of him, as regards the old man; for Ham was rough and hard in his talk.

10Então Sem e Jafé se levantaram depressa, tomaram consigo uma coberta e a puseram atrás das costas, de modo que lhes chegava aos pés; caminharam de costas, com o rosto voltado para o caminho por onde haviam vindo, até chegarem a seus pais.

10Then Shem and Japhet rose quickly, and took with them a coverlet, and put behind their backs that coverlet that reached unto their feet; and they walked backwards, and turned their face towards the way they had gone, until they came to their parents.

11Lançaram a capa sobre eles e retiraram-se com presteza, sem olhar para trás.

11Then they threw the coverlet over them, and went from them in haste, so as not to see them.

12No dia seguinte, a esposa de Noé relatou-lhe o que Cão dissera e praticara.

12Yet on the morrow after this, Noah's wife told him what Ham had said and what he had done.

13Acendeu-se a ira de Noé contra seu filho Cão pelo que fizera; amaldiçoou-o, sentenciando-o a ser servo de seus irmãos.

13Then was Noah very angry with his son Ham for what he had done; and he cursed him, and made him servant of his brothers.

14Abençoou, todavia, a Sem e a Jafé por terem agido dignamente para com ele.

14Yet Noah blessed Shem and Japhet, his sons, because they had behaved well to him.

15Depois Noé tomou outra esposa, que lhe deu à luz sete filhos; e permaneceu habitando naquela montanha até se aproximarem os dias da sua partida.

15Then Noah married another wife, who bare him seven children, and he continued to dwell on that mountain until the days drew near when he must depart this life.

16Viveu Noé trezentos e cinquenta anos após sair da arca.

16And Noah lived 350 years after he came out of the ark.

17Chamou então a seu primogênito Sem e instruiu-o, dizendo: Ó meu filho, ouve atentamente o que te ordeno.

17Then he called his first-born son Shem, and conversed with him, saying, "O my son, hearken unto what I command thee.

18Eis que esta determinação vigorará plenamente quando eu morrer e me sepultardes.

18Behold what I command thee now is, to hold good until I die and ye bury me.

19Terminado o luto por mim, entrai na arca na qual fomos salvos do Dilúvio; retirai de lá o corpo de nosso pai Adão, sem que ninguém o saiba senão os da tua linhagem.

19Then when ye have ended mourning for me, go into the ark wherein we were saved from the flood; then bring out of it the body of our father Adam; yet let no one know of it but one that is of thy seed.

20Faze para ele um ataúde formoso e deposita-o dentro.

20Then make a beautiful case for it, and lay it therein.

21Leva contigo pão como provisão para o caminho, e vinho para beber durante a viagem; pois a terra para onde irás é áspera e carece de alimento.

21Then take with thee some bread to be for provision unto thee by the way, and wine whereof to drink on thy way; for the land to which thou shalt go is rough and hungry.

22Toma contigo Melquisedeque, o filho mais novo de Cainã (ou Arfaxade), teu filho; pois Deus o escolheu dentre todas as gerações dos homens para estar diante Dele, adorá-Lo e servi-Lo junto ao corpo de nosso pai Adão.

22Then take Melchizedec the youngest son of Cainan, (or, Arphaxad) thy son; for God has chosen him from all generations of men, to stand before Him to worship and to minister unto Him, by the body of our father Adam.

23Deposita o corpo de Adão no centro da terra; coloca Melquisedeque ao seu lado e ensina-o a cumprir o sacerdócio diante de Deus.

23Then lay the body of Adam in the midst of the earth; and set Melchizedec to stand by it; and show him how to fulfil his ministry before God."

24Disse mais Noé a Sem: Se guardares o meu preceito, um anjo do Senhor irá convosco e vos mostrará o caminho,

24Moreover Noah said unto Shem his son, "If ye will keep my commandment and go as I tell you, an angel of the Lord will go with you, and show you the way,

25até chegardes ao lugar exato onde depositareis o corpo de Adão no centro da terra; pois naquele mesmo sítio operará Deus a redenção para todo o universo.

25until ye come to the place where ye shall lay the body of Adam in the midst of the earth; for in that same place shall God work salvation for the whole world."

26Contudo, ó meu filho, sei que nossos filhos abandonaram este bom mandamento, desceram do Monte Santo e se misturaram com os filhos de Caim, perecendo com eles nas águas do Dilúvio.

26Yet, O my son, I know that our children forsook this good commandment, and went down the Holy Mountain, and mingled with the children of Cain, and that they perished with them in the waters of the Flood.

27Sabe, ó meu filho, que desde Adão até hoje cada um dos antigos, ao chegar a hora de deixar a carne, deu mandamentos a um dos demais, e que eles ensinaram esses mandamentos uns aos outros.

27Know, O my son, that from Adam until this day, every one of the ancients, gave commandments to one of the rest, at the time of his resting from the flesh, and that they taught these commandments among themselves.

28O primeiro, ó meu filho, que ensinou este mandamento e o explicou foi nosso pai Adão; ele o deu a seu filho Sete, que o recebeu.

28The first, O my son, who taught this commandment and made it plain, was our father Adam; he gave it to his son Seth, who received it.

29Então Sete o transmitiu a seu filho Enos, que o guardou; e Enos o deu a seu filho Cainã, que também o guardou.

29Then Seth handed it to his son Enos who kept it, and Enos gave it to his son Cainan who kept it.

30Então Cainã o deu a seu filho Maalalel, que o guardou e o transmitiu a seu filho Jarede.

30Then Cainan gave it to his son Mahalaleel, who kept it, and handed it to his son Jared. "

31E Jarede o guardou e o deu a seu filho Enoque, que também guardou este mandamento e o deu a seu filho Matusalém, que o guardou,

31And Jared kept it and gave it to his son Enoch, who also kept this commandment and gave it to his son Methuselah, who kept it,

32e o deu a seu filho Lameque, que o guardou e o deu a mim, seu filho; e eu o tenho guardado.

32and gave it to his son Lamech who kept it, and who gave it to me, his son; and I have kept it.

33Contudo, meu avô Matusalém também me deu um grande mandamento, que tenho guardado e que igualmente te dou.

33Yet my grandfather Methuselah also gave me a great commandment which I have kept; and which I give thee likewise.

34Recebe, pois, a minha ordem, conserva as minhas palavras e oculta este mistério no teu coração, sem revelá-lo aos demais parentes.

34So, then, receive my commandment, and hold fast my words; and hide this mystery within thy heart; yet reveal it not to one of all thy kindred.

35Vai e deposita o corpo de nosso pai Adão na terra; e deixa-o ali até o dia da salvação.’

35Yet go, and lay the body of our father Adam in the earth; and let it remain there unto the day of salvation."
