1 Adão e Eva 49

1Então veio a Palavra de Deus e disse:

1Then the Word of God came and said:—

2«Ó Adão, quem te aconselhou, quando saíste da caverna, a vir a este lugar?»

2"O Adam, who counselled you, when you came out of the cave, to come to this place?"

3E respondeu Adão a Deus: «Ó Senhor, viemos a este lugar por causa do calor do fogo, que nos sobreveio dentro da caverna».

3And Adam said to God, "O Lord, we came to this place because of the heat of the fire, that came over us inside the cave."

4Disse então o Senhor Deus a Adão: «Ó Adão, tu temes o calor do fogo por uma só noite, mas como será quando habitares no inferno?

4Then the Lord God said to Adam, "O Adam, you dread the heat of fire for one night, but how will it be when you live in hell?

5Todavia, ó Adão, não temas, nem creias que Eu coloquei esta abóbada de pedra sobre vós para vos atormentar com ela.

5Yet, O Adam, don't be afraid, and don't believe that I have placed this dome of rock over you to plague you with it.

6Ela veio de Satanás, que vos havia prometido a Divindade e a majestade. Foi ele quem arremessou esta rocha para matar-te debaixo dela, e a Eva contigo, e assim impedir-vos de viver sobre a terra.

6It came from Satan, who had promised you the Godhead and majesty. It is he who threw down this rock to kill you under it, and Eve with you, and thus to prevent you from living on the earth.

7Mas, por Minha misericórdia para convosco, no exato momento em que aquela rocha caía sobre vós, ordenei-lhe que formasse uma abóbada sobre vós, e que a rocha sob vós se rebaixasse.

7But, in mercy for you, just as that rock was falling down on you, I commanded it to form an dome over you; and the rock under you to lower itself.

8E este sinal, ó Adão, Me acontecerá na Minha vinda à terra: Satanás incitará o povo dos judeus a Me entregar à morte; e eles Me colocarão em uma rocha e selarão uma grande pedra sobre Mim, e Eu permanecerei dentro daquela rocha três dias e três noites.

8And this sign, O Adam, will happen to Me at My coming on earth: Satan will raise the people of the Jews to put Me to death; and they will lay Me in a rock, and seal a large stone over Me, and I shall remain within that rock three days and three nights.

9Mas ao terceiro dia ressuscitarei, e isso será salvação para ti, ó Adão, e para a tua descendência, se crerdes em Mim. Contudo, ó Adão, não vos tirarei de debaixo desta rocha até que hajam passado três dias e três noites».

9But on the third day I shall rise again, and it shall be salvation to you, O Adam, and to your descendants, to believe in Me. But, O Adam, I will not bring you from under this rock until three days and three nights have passed."

10E Deus retirou a Sua Palavra de Adão.

10And God withdrew His Word from Adam.

11Permaneceram, pois, Adão e Eva debaixo da rocha três dias e três noites, como Deus lhes dissera.

11But Adam and Eve lived under the rock three days and three nights, as God had told them.

12E Deus assim lhes fez porque haviam desamparado a sua caverna e vindo a este mesmo lugar sem a ordem de Deus.

12And God did so to them because they had left their cave and had come to this same place without God's order.

13Mas, passados três dias e três noites, Deus abriu uma fenda na abóbada de pedra e permitiu-lhes sair de debaixo dela. Suas carnes estavam ressequidas, e seus olhos e corações perturbados pelo pranto e pela aflição.

13But, after three days and three nights, God created an opening in the dome of rock and allowed them to get out from under it. Their flesh was dried up, and their eyes and hearts were troubled from crying and sorrow.
