To Seneca, Paul, greeting. Whenever I write to you and do not place my name after yours, I do a serious thing and one unbefitting my persuasion. For I ought, as I have often declared, to be all things to all men, and to observe in your person that which the Roman law has granted to the honour of the senate, and choose the last place in writing a letter, not striving to do as I please in a confused and disgraceful way.
