Zacarias 11

1Abre, ó Líbano, as tuas portas para que o fogo consuma os teus cedros.

1Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars.

2Geme, ó cipreste, porque o cedro caiu, porque os mais poderosos são destruídos; gemei, ó carvalhos de Basã, porque o bosque forte é derrubado.

2Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are spoiled: howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down. {mighty: or, gallants} {the forest...: or, the defenced forest}

3Voz de uivo dos pastores! porque a sua glória é destruída; voz de bramido dos filhos de leões, porque foi destruída a soberba do Jordão.

3{There is} a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled: a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled.

4Assim diz o Senhor meu Deus: Apascenta as ovelhas da matança,

4Thus saith the LORD my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter;

5Cujos possuidores as matam, e não se têm por culpados; e cujos vendedores dizem: Louvado seja o Senhor, porque tenho enriquecido; e os seus pastores não têm piedade delas.

5Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed {be} the LORD; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not.

6Certamente não terei mais piedade dos moradores desta terra, diz o Senhor; mas, eis que entregarei os homens cada um na mão do seu próximo e na mão do seu rei; eles ferirão a terra, e eu não os livrarei da sua mão.

6For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD: but, lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbour's hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver {them}. {deliver: Heb. make to be found}

7Eu, pois, apascentei as ovelhas da matança, as pobres ovelhas do rebanho. Tomei para mim duas varas: a uma chamei Graça, e à outra chamei União; e apascentei as ovelhas.

7And I will feed the flock of slaughter, {even} you, O poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock. {even...: or, verily the poor} {Bands: or, Binders}

8E destruí os três pastores num mês; porque a minha alma se impacientou deles, e também a alma deles se enfastiou de mim.

8Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me. {lothed...: Heb. was straightened for them}

9E eu disse: Não vos apascentarei mais; o que morrer, morra; e o que for destruído, seja destruído; e as que restarem comam cada uma a carne da outra.

9Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another. {another: Heb. his fellow, or, neighbour}

10E tomei a minha vara Graça, e a quebrei, para desfazer a minha aliança, que tinha estabelecido com todos estes povos.

10And I took my staff, {even} Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people.

11E foi desfeita naquele dia; e assim conheceram os pobres do rebanho, que me respeitavam, que isto era palavra do Senhor.

11And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it {was} the word of the LORD. {so...: or, the poor of the flock, etc. certainly knew}

12Porque eu lhes disse: Se parece bem aos vossos olhos, dai-me o meu salário e, se não, deixai-o. E pesaram o meu salário, trinta moedas de prata.

12And I said unto them, If ye think good, give {me} my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty {pieces} of silver. {If ye...: Heb. If it be good in your eyes}

13O Senhor, pois, disse-me: Arroja isso ao oleiro, esse belo preço em que fui avaliado por eles. E tomei as trinta moedas de prata, e as arrojei ao oleiro, na casa do Senhor.

13And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty {pieces} of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD.

14Então quebrei a minha segunda vara União, para romper a irmandade entre Judá e Israel.

14Then I cut asunder mine other staff, {even} Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel. {Bands: or, Binders}

15E o Senhor disse-me: Toma ainda para ti o instrumento de um pastor insensato.

15And the LORD said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.

16Porque, eis que suscitarei um pastor na terra, que não cuidará das que estão perecendo, não buscará a pequena, e não curará a ferida, nem apascentará a sã; mas comerá a carne da gorda, e lhe despedaçará as unhas.

16For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, {which} shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces. {cut off: or, hidden} {feed: or, bear}

17Ai do pastor inútil, que abandona o rebanho! A espada cairá sobre o seu braço e sobre o seu olho direito; e o seu braço completamente se secará, e o seu olho direito completamente se escurecerá.

17Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword {shall be} upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.
