1E levantou-se Adão e andou sete dias por toda aquela terra, e não achou mantimento algum como o que costumavam

1And Adam arose and walked seven days over all that land, and found no victual such as they

2ter no paraíso. E disse Eva a Adão: 'Queres matar-me, para que eu morra, e porventura Deus, o Senhor, te faça entrar no paraíso, pois por minha causa foste expulso de lá?'

2used to have in paradise. And Eve said to Adam: 'Wilt thou slay me? that I may die, and perchance God the Lord will bring thee into paradise, for on my account hast thou been driven thence.'

3Respondeu Adão: 'Abstém-te, Eva, de tais palavras, para que porventura Deus não traga alguma outra maldição sobre nós. Como é possível que eu estenda a mão contra a minha própria carne? Antes, levantemo-nos e procuremos algo com que vivamos, para que não pereçamos.'

3Adam answered: 'Forbear, Eve, from such words, that peradventure God bring not some other curse upon us. How is it possible that I should stretch forth my hand against my own flesh? Nay, let us arise and look for something for us to live on, that we fail not.'
