1E quando ouvi estas palavras de Deus, caí de bruços em terra, e adorei o Senhor, e disse: 'Meu Senhor, Deus Todo-Poderoso e misericordioso, Santo e Justo, não seja apagado o nome que faz memória de Tua majestade, mas converte a minha alma, pois morro e o meu

1And when I heard these words of God, I fell prone on the earth and worshipped the Lord and said, 'My Lord, All powerful and merciful God, Holy and Righteous One, let not the name that is mindful of Thy majesty be blotted out, but convert my soul, for I die and my

2fôlego sairá de minha boca. Não me lances fora de Tua presença, a mim a quem formaste do barro da terra. Não afastes do Teu favor aquele a quem sustentaste.'

2breath will go out of my mouth. Cast me not out from Thy presence, (me) whom Thou didst form of the clay of the earth. Do not banish from Thy favour him whom Thou didst nourish.'

3E eis que uma palavra concernente a ti veio sobre mim, e o Senhor disse-me: 'Visto que os teus dias foram modelados, foste criado com amor ao conhecimento; pelo que jamais será tirado de tua semente para sempre o direito de Me servir.'

3And lo! a word concerning thee came upon me and the Lord said to me, 'Since thy days were fashioned, thou hast been created with a love of knowledge; therefore there shall not be taken from thy seed for ever the (right) to serve Me.'
