1Quando vi isto, fiquei atônito, e o terror apoderou-se de mim, e curvei-me diante de

1When I saw this, I was confounded, and terror seized me and I bowed myself down before

2Deus com o meu rosto em terra. E Deus disse-me: 'Eis que morres, visto que transgrediste o mandamento de Deus, pois deste ouvidos antes à voz de tua mulher, a qual dei em teu poder, para que a guardasses sob a tua vontade. Contudo, deste-lhe ouvidos e preteriste as Minhas palavras.'

And God said to me, 'Behold thou diest, since thou hast transgressed the commandment of God, for thou didst hearken rather to the voice of thy wife, whom I gave into thy power, that thou mightst hold her to thy will.
