1E disse Eva a Adão: 'Vive tu, meu senhor; a ti a vida é concedida, visto que não cometeste nem o primeiro nem o segundo erro. Mas eu errei e fui desencaminhada, pois não guardei o mandamento de Deus; e agora afasta-me da luz de tua vida, e eu irei para o poente,

1And Eve said to Adam: 'Live thou, my Lord, to thee life is granted, since thou hast committed neither the first nor the second error. But I have erred and been led astray for I have not kept the commandment of God; and now banish me from the light of thy life and I will go to the sunsetting,

2e lá ficarei até que morra.' E começou a caminhar em direção às partes ocidentais, a lamentar,

2and there will I be, until I die.' And she began to walk towards the western parts and to mourn

3a chorar amargamente e a gemer em alta voz. E fez ali uma cabana, enquanto trazia no ventre o fruto de três meses.

3and to weep bitterly and groan aloud. And she made there a booth, while she had in her womb offspring of three months old.
