Evangelho da Infância de Tomé 8

1Depois de algum tempo, outro professor, um amigo íntimo de José, disse a ele: Traze o menino à minha escola.

1After some time, another teacher, a close friend of Joseph, said to him: Bring the child to my school.

2Talvez eu consiga através de persuasão ensiná-lo as letras.

2Perhaps I can through persuasion teach him letters.

3José disse: Se tens coragem, irmão, leva-o contigo.

3Joseph said: If you have the courage, brother, take him with you.

4E ele o levou com medo e apreensão, mas o menino foi alegremente.

4And he took him with fear and apprehension, but the child went joyfully.

5Jesus entrou na escola com confiança e encontrou um livro na classe.

5Jesus entered the school with confidence and found a book in the classroom.

6E o tomou, mas não leu as letras nele.

6And he took it, but did not read the letters in it.

7Abriu a boca e falou pelo Espírito Santo, e ensinou a lei aos que estavam ali.

7He opened his mouth and spoke by the Holy Spirit, and taught the law to those who were there.

8Todos os que ouviam ficavam maravilhados com a graça de seu ensinamento e a prontidão de suas palavras.

8All who heard marveled at the grace of his teaching and the readiness of his words.
