Evangelho da Infância de Tomé 5

1José chamou o menino à parte e o aconselhou, dizendo: Por que fazes essas coisas?

1Joseph called the child aside and admonished him, saying: Why do you do these things?

2Estes sofrem e nos odeiam e nos perseguem.

2These suffer and hate us and persecute us.

3E Jesus disse: Sei que estas palavras não são tuas; mesmo assim, por tua causa, eu me calarei.

3And Jesus said: I know that these words are not yours; even so, for your sake, I will be silent.

4Mas eles levarão seu castigo.

4But they shall bear their punishment.

5E imediatamente os que o acusavam ficaram cegos.

5And immediately those who accused him became blind.

6José ficou muito perturbado e agarrou o ouvido de Jesus e o puxou com força.

6Joseph was very disturbed and grabbed Jesus by the ear and pulled hard.

7E Jesus disse a ele: É suficiente para eles procurarem e não encontrarem, e tu agiste muito imprudentemente.

7And Jesus said to him: It is enough for them to seek and not find, and you have acted very unwisely.

8Não sabes que eu sou teu? Não me perturbes.

8Do you not know that I am yours? Do not trouble me.
