Evangelho da Infância de Tomé 12

1Quando completava seis anos, sua mãe Maria lhe deu um cântaro.

1When he was completing six years, his mother Mary gave him a pitcher.

2E o mandou buscar água com as outras crianças.

2And sent him to fetch water with the other children.

3E aconteceu que, ao buscar água, uma das crianças o empurrou e quebrou o cântaro.

3And it happened that, while fetching water, one of the children pushed him and broke the pitcher.

4Jesus estendeu a roupa que vestia e encheu-a de água.

4Jesus spread out the garment he was wearing and filled it with water.

5E levou-a a sua mãe, que vendo o sinal maravilhoso, o beijou.

5And carried it to his mother, who seeing the wonderful sign, kissed him.

6E guardou em seu coração as maravilhas que via ele fazer.

6And kept in her heart the wonders she saw him do.

7Na época da semeadura, o menino saiu com seu pai para semear trigo em seu campo.

7At the time of sowing, the child went out with his father to sow wheat in his field.

8E enquanto seu pai semeava, o menino Jesus também semeou um grão de trigo.

8And while his father sowed, the child Jesus also sowed one grain of wheat.

9E colheu e debulhou cem medidas.

9And he reaped and threshed a hundred measures.

10E chamando todos os pobres da aldeia, deu-lhes o trigo, e José ficou com o resto.

10And calling all the poor of the village, he gave them the wheat, and Joseph kept the rest.

11Jesus tinha oito anos quando fez este sinal.

11Jesus was eight years old when he did this sign.
