Evangelho da Infância de Tomé 1

1Eu, Tomé, o israelita, conto a todos vós, irmãos entre os gentios, os atos da infância de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.

1I, Thomas, the Israelite, tell all of you, brethren among the Gentiles, the deeds of the infancy of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2Estes prodígios ele realizou quando tinha cinco anos de idade, estando na cidade de Nazaré.

2These wonders he performed when he was five years of age, being in the city of Nazareth.

3Quando o menino Jesus tinha cinco anos, brincava junto a um riacho.

3When the child Jesus was five years old, he was playing beside a brook.

4Ele recolheu as águas correntes em poças e as tornou imediatamente puras.

4He gathered the running waters into pools and made them immediately pure.

5E as comandava apenas com sua palavra.

5And he commanded them by his word alone.

6E tendo feito barro macio, moldou doze pardais.

6And having made soft clay, he molded twelve sparrows.

7E era sábado quando ele fez estas coisas.

7And it was the Sabbath when he did these things.

8E havia também muitas outras crianças brincando com ele.

8And there were also many other children playing with him.
