Tobias 11

1E voltando, chegaram a Carã, que está a meio caminho de Nínive, no undécimo dia.

1After these things Tobias went his way, praising God that he had given him a prosperous journey, and blessed Raguel and Edna his wife, and went on his way till they drew near unto Nineve.

2E disse o anjo: Irmão Tobias, já sabes em que estado deixaste a teu pai.

2Then Raphael said to Tobias, Thou knowest, brother, how thou didst leave thy father:

3Se te parece bem, vamos adiante, e siga devagar a tua família com tua mulher e com os animais.

3Let us haste before thy wife, and prepare the house.

4E agradando-lhe ele de ir, Rafael disse a Tobias: Toma contigo do fel do peixe; porque te será necessário. E Tobias tomou daquele fel, e partiram.

4And take in thine hand the gall of the fish. So they went their way, and the dog went after them.

5E Ana assentava-se cada dia junto do caminho, no cume do monte, de onde podia olhar de longe.

5Now Anna sat looking about toward the way for her son.

6E esperando ela dali pela vinda de seu filho, viu-o vir de longe, e logo o conheceu, e correndo deu as novas a seu marido, dizendo: Eis que vem teu filho.

6And when she espied him coming, she said to his father, Behold, thy son cometh, and the man that went with him.

7E Rafael disse a Tobias: Quando entrares em tua casa, logo adora ao Senhor teu Deus, e dando-lhe graças, chega-te a teu pai, e beija-o.

7Then said Raphael, I know, Tobias, that thy father will open his eyes.

8E logo lhe unge os olhos com este fel de peixe que trazes contigo; porque sabe que logo se abrirão os seus olhos, e teu pai verá a luz do céu, e se alegrará com a tua vista.

8Therefore anoint thou his eyes with the gall, and being pricked therewith, he shall rub, and the whiteness shall fall away, and he shall see thee.

9Então o cão, que fora com eles no caminho, correu adiante, e como mensageiro alegrou-se acenando com a cauda.

9Then Anna ran forth, and fell upon the neck of her son, and said unto him, Seeing I have seen thee, my son, from henceforth I am content to die. And they wept both.

10E levantando-se o pai, que era cego, começou tropeçando a correr; e dando a mão a um servo, saiu ao encontro de seu filho.

10Tobit also went forth toward the door, and stumbled: but his son ran unto him,

11E recebendo-o beijou-o com sua mulher, e começaram a chorar de alegria.

11And took hold of his father: and he strake of the gall on his fathers’ eyes, saying, Be of good hope, my father.

12E adorando a Deus, deram-lhe graças, e assentaram-se.

12And when his eyes began to smart, he rubbed them;

13Então Tobias tomando do fel do peixe, ungiu os olhos de seu pai.

13And the whiteness pilled away from the corners of his eyes: and when he saw his son, he fell upon his neck.

14E esperou quase meia hora, e começou a sair-lhe a névoa branca dos olhos, como clara de ovo.

14And he wept, and said, Blessed art thou, O God, and blessed is thy name for ever; and blessed are all thine holy angels:

15E pegando Tobias, tirou-lha dos olhos, e logo recobrou a vista.

15For thou hast scourged, and hast taken pity on me: for, behold, I see my son Tobias. And his son went in rejoicing, and told his father the great things that had happened to him in Media.

16E glorificaram a Deus, ele, e sua mulher, e todos os que os conheciam.

16Then Tobit went out to meet his daughter in law at the gate of Nineve, rejoicing and praising God: and they which saw him go marvelled, because he had received his sight.

17E disse Tobias: Bendigo-te, Senhor Deus de Israel, porque tu me castigaste, e tu me saraste; e eis que vejo a Tobias meu filho.

17But Tobias gave thanks before them, because God had mercy on him. And when he came near to Sara his daughter in law, he blessed her, saying, Thou art welcome, daughter: God be blessed, which hath brought thee unto us, and blessed be thy father and thy mother. And there was joy among all his brethren which were at Nineve.

18E passados sete dias veio também Sara, mulher de seu filho, e toda a família sã, e o gado, e os camelos, e muito dinheiro da mulher, e também aquele dinheiro que tinha recebido de Gabael.

18And Achiacharus, and Nasbas his brother’s son, came:

19E contou a seus pais todos os benefícios de Deus, que fizera nele por meio do homem que o guiara.

19And Tobias’ wedding was kept seven days with great joy.

20E vieram Aquiácar e Nadabe, primos de Tobias, alegrando-se com Tobias, e congratulando-se com ele por todos os bens que Deus tinha obrado nele.

21E por sete dias comeram e se alegraram todos com grande gozo.
