Tito 2

1Tu, porém, fala o que convém à sã doutrina.

1But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

2Os velhos, que sejam sóbrios, graves, prudentes, sãos na fé, no amor, e na paciência;

2That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. {sober: or, vigilant}

3As mulheres idosas, semelhantemente, que sejam sérias no seu viver, como convém a santas, não caluniadoras, não dadas a muito vinho, mestras no bem;

3The aged women likewise, that {they be} in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; {holiness: or, holy women} {false...: or, one who foments strife}

4Para que ensinem as mulheres novas a serem prudentes, a amarem seus maridos, a amarem seus filhos,

4That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, {sober: or, wise}

5A serem moderadas, castas, boas donas de casa, sujeitas a seus maridos, a fim de que a palavra de Deus não seja blasfemada.

5{To be} discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

6Exorta semelhantemente os jovens a que sejam moderados.

6Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. {sober...: or, discreet}

7Em tudo te dá por exemplo de boas obras; na doutrina mostra incorrupção, gravidade, sinceridade,

7In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine {shewing} uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

8Linguagem sã e irrepreensível, para que o adversário se envergonhe, não tendo nenhum mal que dizer de nós.

8Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

9Exorta os servos a que se sujeitem a seus senhores, e em tudo agradem, não contradizendo,

9{Exhort} servants to be obedient unto their own masters, {and} to please {them} well in all {things}; not answering again; {answering...: or, gainsaying}

10Não defraudando, antes mostrando toda a boa lealdade, para que em tudo sejam ornamento da doutrina de Deus, nosso Salvador.

10Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

11Porque a graça salvadora de Deus se há manifestado a todos os homens,

11For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, {hath...: or, to all men, hath appeared}

12Ensinando-nos que, renunciando à impiedade e às concupiscências mundanas, vivamos neste presente século sóbria, e justa, e piamente,

12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

13Aguardando a bem-aventurada esperança e o aparecimento da glória do grande Deus e nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo;

13Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; {glorious...: Gr. the appearance of the glory of the great God, and of our Saviour Jesus Christ}

14O qual se deu a si mesmo por nós para nos remir de toda a iniqüidade, e purificar para si um povo seu especial, zeloso de boas obras.

14Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

15Fala disto, e exorta e repreende com toda a autoridade. Ninguém te despreze.

15These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
