Testamento de Salomão 10

1E depois que o templo foi concluído, eu trouxe todos os demônios diante de mim.

1And after the temple was completed, I brought all the demons before me.

2E os libertei de seus trabalhos, mas os mantive selados sob minha autoridade.

2And I released them from their labors, but kept them sealed under my authority.

3E o templo foi construído em glória incomparável.

3And the temple was built in incomparable glory.

4E todos os reis da terra vinham ver a sabedoria de Salomão e o templo que construíra.

4And all the kings of the earth came to see the wisdom of Solomon and the temple he had built.

5Mas eu, Salomão, caí em tentação.

5But I, Solomon, fell into temptation.

6Amei mulheres estrangeiras que adoravam ídolos.

6I loved foreign women who worshiped idols.

7E meu coração se desviou do Senhor Deus de Israel.

7And my heart turned away from the Lord God of Israel.

8E ofertei incenso a Moloque e Astarte.

8And I offered incense to Moloch and Astarte.

9E a glória de Deus se afastou de mim.

9And the glory of God departed from me.

10E meu espírito se obscureceu, e me tornei o escárnio de homens e demônios.

10And my spirit was darkened, and I became the scorn of men and demons.

11Por isso escrevi este testamento, para que os que o lerem glorifiquem a Deus e evitem meus erros.

11Therefore I have written this testament, so that those who read it may glorify God and avoid my errors.
