1Testamento de Salomão, filho de Davi, que reinou em Jerusalém e dominou sobre todos os espíritos do ar, da terra e debaixo da terra.

1Testament of Solomon, son of David, who reigned in Jerusalem and had dominion over all spirits of the air, of the earth and beneath the earth.

2Por meio deles, ele realizou todas as obras magníficas do Templo.

2Through them, he accomplished all the magnificent works of the Temple.

3Isto conta as autoridades que eles exerciam contra os homens e por quais anjos esses demônios são frustrados.

3This tells of the authorities they exercised against men and by which angels these demons are frustrated.

4Quando o Templo de Jerusalém estava sendo construído, os artesãos trabalhavam nele.

4When the Temple of Jerusalem was being built, the craftsmen were working on it.

5Ornias, o demônio, veio ao pôr do sol e tomou metade do salário e da comida do chefe dos artesãos.

5Ornias, the demon, came at sunset and took half of the wages and food of the chief of the craftsmen.

6Também sugava o polegar da mão direita do menino todos os dias.

6He also sucked the thumb of the right hand of the boy every day.

7O menino, que era muito amado por mim, definhava dia após dia.

7The boy, who was very beloved by me, was wasting away day after day.

8Eu, Salomão, o interroguei e perguntei: Por que vejo que a cada dia você está mais magro?

8I, Solomon, questioned him and asked: Why do I see that each day you are thinner?

9O menino disse: Eu lhe imploro, ó rei, escute o que me acontece.

9The boy said: I implore you, O king, listen to what happens to me.

10Depois que somos dispensados do trabalho no templo, um espírito maligno vem e toma metade do meu salário e comida.

10After we are dismissed from work at the temple, an evil spirit comes and takes half of my wages and food.

11Ele também suga meu polegar, e minha alma está em angústia.

11He also sucks my thumb, and my soul is in anguish.
