Testamento de Jó 11

1Mas eu, desejoso de retomar meu trabalho de benevolência pelos pobres, perguntei-lhes dizendo:

1But I being desirous to take up again my work of benevolence for the poor, asked them saying:

2“Dê-me a cada um um cordeiro para vestir os pobres em estado de nudez e quatro dracmas (moedas) de prata ou ouro”.

2"Give me each a lamb for the clothing of the poor in their state of nakedness, and four drachmas (coins) of silver or gold."

3Então o Senhor abençoou tudo o que me restou, e depois de alguns dias tornei-me rico em mercadorias, em rebanhos e em todas as coisas que havia perdido, e voltei a receber tudo em dobro.

3Then the Lord blessed all that was left to me, and after a few days I became rich again in merchandise, in flocks and all things which I had lost, and I received all in double number again.

4Então também tomei por esposa a sua mãe e me tornei pai de vocês dez, no lugar dos dez filhos que haviam morrido.

4Then I also took as wife your mother and became the father of you ten in place of the ten children that had died.

5E agora, meus filhos, deixem-me adverti-los: “Eis que morro. Vocês tomarão o meu lugar.

5And now, my children, let me admonish you: "Behold I die. You will take my place.

6Apenas não abandone o Senhor. Seja caridoso com os pobres; Não desconsidere os fracos. Não tomem para si esposas de estranhos.

6Only do not forsake the Lord. Be charitable towards the poor; Do not disregard the feeble. Take not unto yourselves wives from strangers.

7Eis, meus filhos, dividirei entre vocês o que possuo, para que cada um tenha controle sobre o que lhe é próprio e tenha pleno poder para fazer o bem com a sua parte.”

7Behold, my children, I shall divide among you what I possess, so that each may have control over his own and have full power to do good with his share."

8E depois de ter falado assim, ele trouxe todos os seus bens e os dividiu entre seus sete filhos, mas não deu nada de seus bens às suas filhas.

8And after he had spoken thus, he brought all his goods and divided them among his seven sons, but he gave nothing of his goods to his daughters.

9Então disseram ao pai: "Nosso senhor e pai! Não somos também teus filhos? Por que, então, não nos dás também uma parte dos teus bens?"

9Then they said to their father: "Our lord and father! Are we not also thy children? Why, then, dost thou not also give us a share of thy possessions?"

10Então disse Jó às suas filhas: "Não fiquem iradas, minhas filhas. Não me esqueci de vocês. Eis que guardei para vocês uma posse melhor do que aquela que seus irmãos tomaram."

10Then said Job to his daughters: "Do not become angry my daughters. I have not forgotten you. Behold, I have preserved for you a possession better than that which your brothers have taken."

11E ele chamou sua filha cujo nome era Day (Yemima) e disse-lhe: “Pegue este anel duplo que serve de chave e vá até a casa do tesouro e traga-me o caixão de ouro, para que eu possa lhe dar sua posse”.

11And he called his daughter whose name was Day (Yemima) and said to her: "Take this double ring used as a key and go to the treasure-house and bring me the golden casket, that I may give you your possession."

12E ela foi e trouxe para ele, e ele abriu e tirou cintos de três cordas sobre cuja aparência nenhum homem pode falar.

12And she went and brought it to him, and he opened it and took out three-stringed girdles about the appearance of which no man can speak.

13Pois não eram trabalhos terrenos, mas faíscas celestiais de luz brilhavam através deles como os raios do sol.

13For they were not earthly work, but celestial sparks of light flashed through them like the rays of the sun.

14E ele deu um cordão para cada uma de Suas filhas e disse: “Coloque-os como cintos em volta de você, para que todos os dias de sua vida eles possam cercá-la e dotá-la de tudo de bom”.

14And he gave one string to each of His daughters and said: "Put these as girdles around you in order that all the days of your life they may encircle you and endow you with every thing good."

15E a outra filha, cujo nome era Kassiah, disse: "É esta a posse que você diz ser melhor do que a de nossos irmãos? E agora? Podemos viver com isso?"

15And the other daughter whose name was Kassiah said: "Is this the possession of which thou sayest it is better than that of our brothers? What now? Can we live on this?"

16E o pai deles lhes disse: “Vocês não apenas têm aqui o suficiente para viver, mas também estes os trazem para um mundo melhor para viver, nos céus.

16And their father said to them: "Not only have you here sufficient to live on, but these bring you into a better world to live in, in the heavens.

17Ou vocês não sabem, meus filhos, o valor dessas coisas aqui? Ouça então! Quando o Senhor me considerou digno de ter compaixão de mim e de tirar do meu corpo as pragas e os vermes, Ele me chamou e me entregou estes três cordões.

17Or do you not know my children, the value of these things here? Hear then! When the Lord had deemed me worthy to have compassion on me and to take off my body the plagues and the worms, He called me and handed to me these three strings.

18E Ele me disse: 'Levanta-te e cinge os teus lombos como um homem que eu te exigirei e tu me declara'.

18And He said to me: ‘Rise and gird up thy loins like a man I will demand of thee and declare thou unto me'.

19E eu os peguei e os amarrei em volta dos meus lombos, e imediatamente os vermes deixaram meu corpo, e da mesma forma as pragas, e todo o meu corpo ganhou novas forças através do Senhor, e assim eu segui em frente, como se nunca tivesse sofrido.

19And I took them and girt them around my loins, and immediately did the worms leave my body, and likewise did the plagues, and my whole body took new strength through the Lord, and thus I passed on, as though I had never suffered.

20Mas também no meu coração esqueci as dores. Então o Senhor falou comigo em Seu grande poder e me mostrou tudo o que foi e será.

20But also in my heart I forgot the pains. Then spoke the Lord unto me in His great power and showed to me all that was and will be.

21Agora, meus filhos, ao manter isso, você não terá o inimigo conspirando contra você nem intenções [más] em sua mente, porque isso é um encanto (Phylacterion) do Senhor.

21Now then, my children, in keeping these, you will not have the enemy plotting against you nor [evil] intentions in your mind because this is a charm (Phylacterion) from the Lord.

22Levante-se então e cinja-se com isso antes que eu morra, para que você possa ver os anjos chegando na minha despedida, para que você possa contemplar com admiração os poderes de Deus.

22Rise then and gird these around you before I die in order that you may see the angels come at my parting so that you may behold with wonder the powers of God."

23Então levantou-se aquela cujo nome era Day (Yemima) e cingiu-se; e imediatamente ela deixou seu corpo, como seu pai havia dito, e assumiu outro coração, como se nunca tivesse se importado com as coisas terrenas.

23Then rose the one whose name was Day (Yemima) and girt herself; and immediately she departed her body, as her father had said, and she put on another heart, as if she never cared for earthly things.

24E ela cantou hinos angélicos na voz dos anjos e cantou o louvor angélico a Deus enquanto dançava.

24And she sang angelic hymns in the voice of angels, and she chanted forth the angelic praise of God while dancing.

25Então a outra filha, de nome Kassia, colocou o cinto e seu coração se transformou, de modo que ela não desejou mais as coisas mundanas.

25Then the other daughter, Kassia by name, put on the girdle, and her heart was transformed, so that she no longer wished for worldly things.

26E sua boca assumiu o dialeto dos governantes celestiais (Arcontes) e ela cantou a donologia da obra do Lugar Alto e se alguém desejar conhecer a obra dos céus pode ter uma visão dos hinos de Kassia.

26And her mouth assumed the dialect of the heavenly rulers (Archonts) and she sang the donology of the work of the High Place and if any one wishes to know the work of the heavens he may take an insight into the hymns of Kassia.

27Então a outra filha chamada Chifre de Amalteia (Keren Happukh) cingiu-se e sua boca falou na língua dos que estão no alto; pois seu coração foi transformado, elevando-se acima das coisas mundanas.

27Then did the other daughter by the name of Amalthea’s Horn (Keren Happukh) gird herself and her mouth spoke in the language of those on high; for her heart was transformed, being lifted above the worldly things.

28Ela falou no dialeto dos Querubins, cantando louvores ao Governante dos poderes cósmicos (virtudes) e exaltando sua (Sua) glória.

28She spoke in the dialect of the Cherubim, singing the praise of the Ruler of the cosmic powers (virtues) and extolling their (His) glory.

29E quem quiser seguir os vestígios da “Glória do Pai” os encontrará escritos nas Orações do Chifre de Amalteia.

29And he who desires to follow the vestiges of the "Glory of the Father" will find them written down in the Prayers of Amalthea’s Horn.
