Testamento de Jacó 9

1Depois disso, Jacó disse a seus filhos: ‘Eis que estou para ser levado e sepultado com meu povo; coloque meu corpo com meu povo na sepultura dupla no campo de Efrom, o hitita, onde Abraão e sua esposa Sara foram sepultados, onde Isaque foi sepultado, no caminho do campo e da sepultura que nele há, que foi comprada dos filhos de Hete.

1After this, Jacob said to his sons: ‘Behold, I am about to be taken away and laid to rest with my people; lay my body with my people in the double grave in the field of Ephron the Hittite, where Abraham and his wife Sarah were buried, where Isaac was buried, in the path of the field and the grave that is in it, which was bought from the sons of Heth.’

2E quando Jacó terminou de dizer isso, ele colocou os pés em cima da cama; ele saiu do corpo como todo homem.

2And when Jacob had finished saying this, he drew his feet up on to his bed; he went forth from the body like every man.

3E o Senhor veio do céu com Miguel e Gabriel acompanhando-o, e muitas legiões de anjos cantando diante dele. Eles levaram a alma de Jacó Israel para moradas de luz com seus santos pais Abraão e Isaque.

3And the Lord came from heaven with Michael and Gabriel accompanying him, and many legions of angels singing before him. They took the soul of Jacob Israel to abodes of light with his holy fathers Abraham and Isaac.

4Tal foi a vida de Jacó Israel, o patriarca. José o apresentou ao Faraó quando ele tinha cento e trinta anos e ele passou outros dezessete anos no Egito; juntos, isso perfaz cento e quarenta e sete anos.

4Such was the life of Jacob Israel the patriarch. Joseph presented him to Pharaoh when he was a hundred and thirty years old and he spent another seventeen years in Egypt; together this makes a hundred and forty-seven years.

5Ele descansou em idade avançada, perfeito em todas as virtudes e graça espiritual; e ele glorificou a Deus em todos os seus caminhos, na paz de Deus. Amém.

5He went to his rest in a ripe old age, perfect in every virtue and spiritual grace; and he glorified God in all his ways, in the peace of God. Amen.
